Body of Lies (Eve Duncan Book 4)

I liked this book as I have all the other books in the Eve Duncan series so far. However to really get the story I think you need to start with the first book of the series.

This series is fantastic! I have been getting them from the library; but this was checked out by someone else at the time. I couldn't wait to read it; so I bought it. Each story is stand-alone; but the characters develop and make more sense if read in order.

The plot line of this book, like all in the Eve series, carries the reader along nicely. But the characterization of Eve, and her behavior toward Joe, is very poorly written. A better writer would have avoided the false clank of her poorly rendered psychology.

Of you have never read one of Ms. Johnson's books you really need to. I have read a lot of them. The Eve Duncan books are my favorites. There are so many great characters. I love them or hate them, whatever fits each character.I would recommend that everyone should read her books. She is amazing.

Iris Johansson just gets better and better. This is my second time reading through all of her Eve Duncan series. You can't possibly remember all the twists in the plot in the first read. So much stays hidden until the very end and just when you think you know it all ... another twist.

I like this author and always enjoy her writings. This one was a little tedious. The story didn't move quickly enough but all in all an ok read. This plot seemed similar to another one of her books, but I would think with all of the books she writes that would happen. I will still continue to read her works. Thanks.

I'm an experienced reader, for more then 50 years and I have to tell you, these are some great books. Don't read them near bedtime because you aren't going to be able to stop. I read two and ordered more immediately.

Habe selten einen so unterirdisch miserablen Thriller gelesen, aber was heißt gelesen? Bin nur bis Seite 84 gekommen und habe das Buch dann in den Müll geschmissen (habe leider keinen Kamin!!). Alle zehn Seiten wird jemand ermordet, was mir schon mal tierisch auf den Zeiger ging und dann bemüht sich dieser Laufband-Hobby-Mörder, diese Eve Duncan um jeden Preis nach Baton Rouge einfliegen zu lassen, um einen Schädel zu rekonstruieren. Allerdings versucht der "Hobby Mörder" aber schon am ersten Abend, Eve zu ermorden...so ein SCH......Er hätte sie doch schon gleich in ihrem Wohnort ermorden können, wo er das vermeintliche Grab von Duncans Tochter geschändet hat, so ein toller Profi Killer wie er ist!!!! Wozu diese farblose Eve Figur also erst von weit her einfliegen lassen????? Sorry, das war mir schriftstellerisch zu platt, unmotiviert, Anfänger-haft konstruiert. Da ist mir die Lust auf`s Weiterlesen vergangen. Wollte ja keine Einschlafhilfe. War dieses Opus aber!!!! Und diese Johansen wirft also soooo viele Bücher auf den Markt? Unglaublich. Wer liest denn so einen Schmarren in den USA? Egal, ein Stern ist noch zu viel!!!! Wer spannende forensische Unterhaltung möchte, sollte Tess Gerritsen lesen. Das sind solide komponierte, spannende Krimis für den Urlaub oder ähnliche Lebenslagen, wo man einfach nur mal kurzweilig unterhalten werden will.

Loved the twists and turns right at the end. Highly recommend this book. Want to read more of this series.
