Panasonic DMP-BDT230 Smart Wi-Fi 3D Blu-Ray Player (2013 Model)

When I purchased my TV from Amazon I decided to save money on the Blu Ray and purchased a Panasonic DMP-BDT321 from another retailer. The device worked well and still works but like most feed slot machines there are some irritating quirks. Feed and boot issues and of course a poorly conceived remote that has a Lap Top type mouse to control function. I used my TV and old model remotes instead but there were issues with that too.Amazon had this on a Lighting Deal so I jumped on it after asking questions of other reviewers . Tray loading is easy to use so also the push button remote not only works well but because of the same low profile slim design of this player I was able to just stack the two machines and use the same HDMI and power cord. Install took less than a minute. The sound also runs through the HDMI so I did not need those jacks. Another plus from my point of view is the VIRA link does not take over. I find this very irritating when it happens on all my other devices. The manual buttons on the machine also have a crisp snap so none of that touch the wrong thing working here. They are located top right for easy access. I like 3 - D but I feel the hassle of the glasses is plenty enough to worry over. Last time they get me though because a week later it's ten bucks less ,I guess they wanted their bonus bucks back.

I think this is one of the best DVD/Blue-Ray players on the market. This replaced a Samsung Blu-Ray that could not sync HD on Component Video, and the Panasonic works great. Also has built in wired and wi-fi internet with easy set-up (recommends an "n" connection), native selection of content providers such as Amazon and Netflix, and internet access. My device uploaded firmware upgrades on wireless and installed with no issues. Sleek unit takes little space, can be controlled by IR repeater. I liked it so much I bought another one for my significant other as her idea of an action flick is Downton Abbey. I have had no problems with either unit.

Rarely do I review products, but I must say this unit was a huge disappointment. Purchased because it is one of the few that has Amazon Prime Video and MLB.TV that is reasonably priced. After initial set up, everything worked great. It sat for 4 or 5 days and when trying to use it for the 2nd time, it can not connect. Tried configuring manually, push, pull, "easy" set up, etc., to no avail. Only half the time did the unit even see my router, and even then it would fail to complete from timing out. Maybe the firmware update was a bad idea? Either way - it's going back.

I've owned the DMP-BDT230 Blu-ray player for over a year now and it works fine...most of the time. I use it mainly to stream Netflix movies. I love that Netflix is integrated into the player and the remote control. I owned a different Panasonic Blu-ray player before without the Netflix integration and I didn't know then how nice it is to have a button dedicated to Netflix right on the remote control. Now, I really have a deeper appreciation for the big red Netflix button. It's a must for Netflix subscribers! The player was very easy to set up and it quickly connected to my wi-fi signal and I was up and running within minutes. I've had to switched twice already from AT&T to Comcast and it was a snap to make the wi-fi change. I have the most basic Comcast plan (4mb download 0.98mb upload) and this player streamed fine without any hiccups. The picture and sound quality are fine also. Aside from Netflix (main reason why I purchased this one) is that it will play Blu-ray discs beautifully along with many different media formats - DVD/CD/etc. I think I only encountered one type that it didn't play - VCD format - which was a bummer! The unit booted up pretty fast (perhaps 3 seconds) and connected to Netflix within 10 seconds of pressing the dedicated Netflix button. It takes about 5 seconds to prep to Blu-ray and DVDs so it's not too bad. I like that you can update the firmware regularly and it even does it automatically for you, if you so desire. After a year of firmware updates, I've notice a much quicker boot and load time. However, I also noticed that I've had to physically pulled the plug on it a few times because it tended to freeze on me while fast forwarding streaming shows. Yanking out the power seems to resolve any issues that I've had. I just hope it does not ruin the chip/motherboard or something. In any case, I don't have a 3-D television set so I can't comment on that but I have used the other features that come with this player (internet, miracast, etc.) and they worked great. Overall, I would recommend this player because of it's ability to do firmware updates, fast load/boot time, easy setup, nice Netflix integration, and Panasonic brand name. This Blu ray player is excellent. The quick boot up is is a great thing especially when you have little kids waiting for a movie to start. The buttons on the remote is excellent. I really like the big netflix button as it is easy to see and you can just click on it. the setup is easy and you can connect to wifi or lan fairly quickly. Picture quality is excellent and so clear, the machine runs very quiet as well.I have the machine connected via wifi all the way in the back of my home away from the router about 50 feet and i have no problem with wifi connection while watching a amazon/or netflix movie.I'm not a power user so this machine as all the things i need. excellent for the price

This is not "region free bluray player." If you are looking for it, this is NOT a candidate.

Ja, das mit der Wiedergabe von Scheiben mit unterschiedlichem Regionalcode klappt ganz gut, aber die Verarbeitung ist - ungewohnt für Panasonic - eher liderlich. Bei einem Stern bleibts aber vor allem deshalb, weil der Player selbst mit dem neuesten Update einige aktuelle Blu-rays nicht abspielt oder während der Wiedergabe einfach aufgibt. In anderen Geräten laufen die Discs aber problemlos.

Gestern habe ich das Gerät erhalten.Anschluss ohne Beschreibung kinderleicht.Die Installation, einschließlich Zugang zum W-Lan war ruckzuck erledigt.Im Zusammenspiel mit Panasonic-TV und der Panasonic-Soundbar harmoniert der Player wunderbar.So wurde es gestern noch ein langer Abend.Das Gerät kann ich nur empfehlen, selbstverständlich vor allen Dingen, wenn man fremdcodierte DVDs und Bluray besitzt.Ansonsten ist eine derartige Investition nicht erforderlich, den es ist ja ein stolzer Preis, der aber für diesen Zweck gerechtfertigt ist.

一度購入しましたが、リージョン2以外は全く視聴できず（2でもPALは不可）、ブルーレイもゾーンＡのみ視聴可でした。また、国内仕様でさえ、"cannot play"の表示が出る始末で、交換してもらいましたが、2機目も同様でした。個体差の問題かもしれませんが、2機連続となると、製品の仕様上の問題かと思います。もしかすると、ソフト側の問題かと思い、海外ソフトを複数試しましたが、駄目でした。やはりプレーヤ側の問題と思われます。価格も相対的に安価で、さらに低下傾向にあるようですが、選択しないほうが賢明です。最終的には、別製品に買い替えました。

Nachdem uns in einem großen Elektroartikelmarkt erst ein falscher DVD-Bluray-Player verkauft u. bei Reklamierung mitgeteilt wurde, dass es keine Codefree-Player gibt, waren wir umso glücklicher über diesen PanasonicDie Einrichtung ist kinderleicht, und es gibt keinerlei Problem mit unseren deutschen und allen amerikanischen DVDs. Absolute Kaufempfehlung! Bisher mussten wir auch noch keine Programmierung bei jedem Einschalten vor dem Gucken vornehmen.Wer also einen Codefree-Player sucht, ist mit diesem sehr gut beraten.
