Stunningly Good!!
Bought to replace a Dell 3008 that failed 2 months outside its 3 year warranty, the U3011 is a step up in terms of both picture quality and menu functionality over its predecessor.I haven't noticed any of the problems of backlight or colour variations mentioned by others, and, after calibrating with a Spyder3 the colour rendition is just about perfect (it was good out of the box in sRGB and Adobe RGB anyway).TWO THINGS TO BE AWARE OF:-1) Make absolutely sure that you get the warranty specified. The extra two years (taking it up to 5) can only be ordered by the initial purchaser (not the end user). Unfortunately Amazon's own third party supplier hadn't bought the extra warranty so the first one had to be returned. You can check this on the Dell website via the 'service tag' which is on the outside of the box without registering the monitor.2) Dell seem to be putting incorrect revision numbers on the outside of the boxes compared to what is on the monitor. My latest one said Rev. A07 on the box but says A06 on the actual monitor. The one I returned was A06/A05 respectively. Having said that, I believe the panel (LG) is the same, and it's probably only firmware/menu changes. As one other reviewer put it: Buy one for all your staff - they'll love you for it, and their productivity will shoot up. I simply couldn't bear dropping back to the old triple 24" setup after having a 30" with a 24" on each side for three years!!!Easily the best value for money 30" monitor on the market! You'll need to pay anything up to twice as much to improve on it. And, of course, it comes with Dell's next day exchange Premium Panel Warranty covering against bright/dead pixels throughout its warranty.

Amazing Monitor
Originally I was about to purchase an Apple 27" thunderbolt display - which is a very very good monitor. The reason I eventually went for the Dell was the extra size and connections such as component,1xVGA, 2xDVI,2xHDMI,Display port and USB. Another thing important to think about with a monitor this size is the height which is easily adjustable on the very solid stand, you can also tilt and turn the monitor which for some working environments might be important. The monitor looks really professional and build quality is excellent (although probably does not look as good from the back as the apple displays). Current its connected to a mac mini and mac book pro.I have run both white, grey and colour tests and the monitor is even across the whole screen. The touch buttons on the side are really nice and make the monitor feel a quality product. Plus the setup and menu's are obvious and easy to use.The monitor has a native resolution of 2560x1600 - however if you are using the standard Apple mini display port to DVI adaptor or HDMI port DVI adaptor you will only get 1920x1080. If you want to drive this display from a mini display port (or thunderbolt) then get a mini display port to display port cable and it will work a perfectly. You can also choose a mini display port to dual DVI adaptor but these cost around £70 (the cable is much cheaper).Obviously if you have a standard PC with graphic card with Dual DVI no issues - just connect the cable (supplied) and you are away.Overall if you are a computer professional such as graphic/web developer or like myself a software developer then this is a real investment. If you are into gaming then you are going to love resolution and size.

Great monitor
Far superior monitor to the samsung PX2370 which I had before. 16:10 aspect ratio is much better than I thought for most of things that I do (creating diagrams, writing code, playing games, even for movies doesnt hurt). Color shift on different angles is almost non-existing, however there is some sort of brightness shift, probably coming out of AG coating. Color reproduction is very good, however comparing to PS VITA display (OLED), black is not that black as it could be. OLED technogy seems to perform better in this aspect as IPS. I have not noticed any input lag while playing sc2, diablo3, however there have been noticible delay in tdu2 - this might be caused also by slow graphics (gtx 460 who knows). Overall I am happy with it even thou it cost a lot. That usable working space is just brilliant (thats the primary reason why I bought it). Also to mention that it surprised me a bit that the monitor actually radiates small amount of heat which is noticible when working 50-70cm in front. I have been quite unlucky with DHT delivery who delivered monitor to the standard post office and havent left any notice - I found that out from tracking information and had to call them on the phone wtf... It was delivered OK afterwards, but I would avoid DHT If I had choice in the future. I give it 4/5 due to all what was written above, most of those things you must see yourself to judge, however I would buy it again even despite all mentioned details.

Brilliant performance!
I have a top of the range desk to system with dual graphics cards and I wanted a monitor to take advantage if the specification. This Dell unit has exceeded expectations with incredible detail and eye stain free viewing. The 30" screen gives a fantastic amount of "desk" space when working multiple winows.
