Washer Agitator Coupler Kit Replacement for GE 175D2846P001

I removed the original agitator coupler from my GE washing machine and it literally has 175D2846P001 stamped on the top of it. So I ordered this part, which claims to be the same part. Side by side, the original and this new one look identical. Though the new one does not have 175D2846P001 stamped on top of it, and the new one came with a little bit longer screw than the original.Maybe I got a defective one, but the new part did not fit at all. It would push in maybe half an inch and then stop. There was no way to push it all the way down to the point where you could put the screw in and tighten it. I even tried using a heavy rubber mallet to set it in place, but it would not budge.While the part I received was not compatible with the original GE 175D2846P001, the part did seem to be of the same quality as the original, and was priced well. If it had fit, it would have been perfect. So I can't leave just 1 star, and I'm guessing I just got a bad one and likely most won't run into the same issue.

I was so happy that this was a perfect match to the one that broke on my washer. It was easy to insert and I was back to washing clothes.
