Great size, value, and performance
I recently decided to add a light to my EDC system and after a lot of research, the preon 1 seemed to fit my needs and use case the best. I love it so far and am glad I added it to my daily carry. The clip is strong and allows the light to sit as deep as possible in my front pocket so it's virtually invisible. The short length of the light let's me wear it in my front pocket with my cell phone and the light doesn't touch the cell phone. I like this because I usually don't put anything else in that pocket for fear of scratching the smartphone screen. it's also thin enough it doesn't interfere with using the pocket. I like the various colors, especially blue, but I got the black so it would blend better with my clothing. I don't like my gear to stand out.In the week since i have owned it, i have used it almost daily. The low mode is great when i come home late and the porch light is off or when entering a dark room and I need to locate the switch.I was most impressed when I got stuck out with my bike until after dark. I don't have a bike light so I used the preon on high with a strap and it worked great. Got me home safely.Just tonight I used it in an impromptu corn maze visit. It's durable and well built. I highly recommend the purchase.

Terrific AAA Flashlight with a Surprising Amount of Features
First off let me mention that I didn't get my Preon P1 G2 from Amazon because I could not find the Titanium version on Amazon. I ordered the Ti Version with the Ti clicky tailcap from 4Seven directly, however I didnt order this black version from Amazon for a present. The light is small, light weight, very bright, and loaded with features. You expect a light this size to be small and light weight but it is truly amazing to see this little thing blasting out 80+ lumens with a single AAA battery which by the way is also a terrific feature since AAA are readily available anywhere. Also. I would expect maybe a high and low mode but on this light you get 3 levels and 4 hidden modes. The 3 levels of light are useful and practical and if you quickly cycle through the modes twice, you unlock the 4 hidden modes(Strobe, SOS, Beacon, ALT Beacon). The only real issue I have with the light is the somewhat weak and basic pocket clip. Don't get me wrong, the clip is functional but in my opinion doesn't seem up to standards relative to the rest of the light. Regardless, the clip is replaceable and can be purchased from the 4Seven website. Besides the little gripe, I have been very impressed that a light at this size and price point would offer so many features and can easily recommend it to anyone interested.TI VERSION w/ TI CLICKY TAILCAP:I feel I might as well talk about the Ti version of this light as well. It cost a bit more but you get a quality Titanium version of the P1 and if you're like me and really enjoy Titanium everything, you will like this version as well. Also, the Ti clicky tailcap is excellent and makes operating the light much easier and especially with one hand. The Ti version with the Tailcap really ups the feel on the light and I really like it. A few issues that I have found with the Clicky Tailcap are that the pocket clip and the included lanyard attachment accessory does not seem to fit the clicky tailcap. I am left with the choice of using the clip or the clicky and I really wish a new clip that would fit the clicky was included with the upgraded clicky tailcap. I have emailed 4Seven support but am still waiting for a reply. I will update this review when I get a reply. Also, I tried an eneloop AAA battery without any success. When you look at the coil on both the flat tailcap and the clicky, the clicky coil is shorter and I feel maybe isn't making contact with the eneloop. The eneloop worked just fine with the flat tailcap on the Preon P1 that I gave as a gift. Finally I feel I should mention that there are upgrades that can be had online if you look.Any way you cut it, this is a fantastic light. I will update my review should I run into any issues.UPDATE:Tried switching out the clicky tail cap with the flat standard tailcap on my Ti version and the eneloop still didn't work. I will try swapping out different parts and seeing what the issue is.

I hate my Preon P1
I hate my Preon P1. The clip is flimsy/weak. It catches on everything and I randomly find the light on the ground before I know it got caught on something and fell out of my pocket. When the clip snags it bends out and stays bent to crap. No tail clicky, you need to buy one separately, for way more than a clicky switch is worth. I thought I could live without a clicky, but one hand operation is too much effort, especially if you have to go through 3 modes to get to the bright one.I used to carry a Streamlight Microstream, but gave it to a friend and decided to try the Preon. Bad decision. I can't wait until the Preon snags on something and I lose it for good, so I can go back to the Microstream.

It's not the best flashlight I have, but it's worth the $32
I got the 70 lumen version box... 3 times in a row. And because it's fulfilled by Amazon, to get a replacement requires buying a new one and returning the old one separately. Gets kinda old. I tried contacting the seller. No response. Even left messages with Foursevens. No response. To this day, I'm not sure if I have the 70 or 84 lumen version. The box says 70, but there is a small sticker added saying it's the Gen2 LED, so... Either way, it's worth the money.Even though I have better flashlights, this is the one I carry every day. And it's for one reason. The clip works well. Plus, the clip design is such that if it accidentally gets bent out of shape, it can be easily fixed.Pros:- You can leave it on for extended periods of time without it getting too hot.- It's incredibly small and clips on my pocket without interfering with using the pocket.- It's bright for a tiny AAA battery flashlight- If you leave it on the low setting, it's still bright enough to tail-stand in a tent and be able to see.Cons:- It's twist on and goes from low beam to high. I find I rarely use the low beam and have to keep twisting to get it bright.- The smooth surface helps keep from scratching things in your pocket, but make it hard to turn if your hands are wet.Note: I think the L3 Illumination L10 flashlight is a better flashlight, but without a good clip, I just don't carry it.
