Weird, but not a complete surprise
Okay, by now we all have our opinions of the movie. I, personally, was grossly disappointed. So why did I buy this score? As a fan of Buffy, I had a soft spot for Christophe Beck. The review at filmtracks.com of this Elektra score will tell you that this music is a departure for Beck, but that isn't really true. If you've listened to the "Suite from 'Restless'" on the Buffy-Once More With Feeling CD, you pretty much know what you're in for.Specifically, you're in for 45 minutes of funky percussion, clanging gongs, blasting horns, some other instruments I can't quite identify, and one soft, slow track at the end. So if you like that, then enjoy.I myself actively like only two tracks: "De Marco's End," which is slightly kick-a$$ but only at the end, and "Insomnia." "Ninjas" has a bit of a James Horner vibe, like "Bishop's Countdown" from _Aliens_. (Of course, the scores for lots of action pictures claim a "Bishop's Countdown"-style track.)I would have liked the album more if it had a good movie to refer to. Since it didn't, I can't really recommend it on the music alone. But if you like non-traditional scores (or only listen to the second half of _Children of Dune_) this might be worth a spin.

Very pleased with this purchase!
Electra the movie, featuring Jennifer Garner, and this original motion picture soundtrack are both top-class. Christophe Beck's music captures effectively the moods of the movie. The overall music theme is theatrical with many moments that are bold, dramatic, tense and on a few tracks subdued, quiet and melancholy.I particularly like the use of gongs in track 7, the use of electronic and percussion elements in track 3 ('Insomnia') and the use of piano and tinkling sounds in track 9 to capture the quiet moments.Overall, the album consists of 21 tracks and 45 minutes of playing time. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Elektric
This score CD suffers two-fold. It is based on a sequel that was not well-received from a source movie that was also either loved or hated. That is a shame. I found this score to capture the tone of the film. I felt that Christophe Beck did the best he could to musically showcase the sequences in the film. However, the music is not so distinctive that it is easily identifiable.

A good album for an excellent movie
This album is great. The music is so deep and relaxing. Only those people with no taste don't like it.
