When I bought this I was thinking of selling my 2012 Odyssey. I was having trouble with burnt coils and fouled plugs. I think I replaced 4 coils. I didn’t know that the VCM was the root of the problem. It was only after reading about this problem with Honda engines that I found that there were ways to get around it. There are a few different versions that do similar things but when I bought this, I was thinking that this was a cheaper option and if it doesn’t work then at least I can say I tried.It does work and I haven’t burned up any ignition parts in months! There is a small amount of time, in cold weather, when the van slips into eco mode but it’s very brief and it happens when I don’t let it properly warm up. I would guess that the outside temperature would be 40 degrees or less for this to happen.Now it’s true that other ones might work better and might use different techniques to accomplish bypassing the VCM and I might try one of those but I’m pretty pleased with this product.

Super easy to install. It too me less than 15 min. No problems in 1,000 miles and my Honda Odyssey works the best it has every worked. Really smooth power delivery and I think the van is much faster and driveability is enhanced. I wished I had known about these sooner. Go get one.

Before I got this my 2012 Honda Pilot was suffering from misfires, poor gas mileage, surging, etc. I would go on trips with the cruise control set to 70mph and whenever I would encounter a hill to climb it would be like I floored the gas. All those problems went away after installing this. Went on a trip after installing and once my vehicle reached normal operating temperature the temp gauge dropped some and no more ECO mode. Had the cruise control set and when climbing hills as smooth as butter. Got over 21 MPG which is the first time I have got over 18MPG in years. I just wish I would have known that VCM was my problem a long time ago. There are cheaper VCM disablers out there but this one is unique in having that temp sensor so it only engages once your vehicle reaches normal operating temperature. This prevents the "Check Engine" light from coming on which can happen with the cheaper ones that don't have the temp sensor.

It does the job. To put it in make sure you are covering the attached white piece of the item. Make sure it sits tightly against the hose right next to it, you can also cover it with the provided metal band. Once installed you won't be able to tell the temperature in your suv, on my case it stayed on the second line above the "C". But works as intended as the eco light does not engage any longer.

Does what it means to do. Easy install, fast shipping, works great!Misfire on valve #3 and mechanic says to upgrade pcm software (cost at dealership is $180). Piston rings is probably messed up from ECO on and off. That's also time consuming and expensive to fix. My car is old with high mileage. Bought this to slow down the death of my car.

This was very easy to install any instructions pretty clear. The car stays in 6 cylinder mode most of the time now. I have not burned through any oil in the past two and a half months since installation. Sometimes the Eco light still comes on when the car is cold but after a couple minutes of driving it usually goes off and you can notice transmission shifting smoother as the engine is not dropping any cylinders.

Plug and play, easy Percy. Securing the sensor was troublesome. Not much room in my ‘09 Honda Pilot to put clamp on. Got it, works as stated. Runs well at good temp.
