Tenergy Rechargeable NiCd D Batteries and T9688 LCD Smart Charger, 4 Pack D Size Battery Cells and Charger

I have an old small gas heater I use on the back porch when it's cold. The heater has a inside which requires 4 D-cells. After buying D-cells 4 for $14.00 that last a few hours and are then trash, I bought this product. It's easy to use, charges the 4 batteries in a couple of hours and they last about 3 evenings per charge. The charger has already paid for itself. I've only used it for the D-calls but it will fit about any rechargeable Nicad battery size.

Just received the charger and batteries, so too new to give a long term review. I can say that I have 2 concerns. First, there is a smell the unit puts out that resembles something like burning plastic or maybe a chemical of some sort. The smell doesn't fill the room and only noticeable when close to the unit, but still concerning. Second, the charger and batteries were purchased as a package deal. The batteries that came with the charger are the Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd). The manual for the charger specifically states to ONLY charge Nickel Metal-Hydride (Ni-MH). Why put a package deal together that doesn't work together? That's like buying a new gas engine car and the dealership filling the fuel tank with diesel.

My first D cell rechargeable battery and the charger. It works, but the lcd display doesn’t work well, batteries never full charge, and the batteries are very short life, I have recharged very other days for my cat feeder automatic.

Longevity and Value, if you bought 3 pack of 4 D cell batteries the time you the bat6are nearly free batteries

All my Tenergy products are rated 5 stars but this one only rated 3 since one battery will not fully charge.Update I an giving this item 5 stars as tynergy sent me a replacement battery and all is working as needed.

It works well after I am able to get the batteries in. It advertises as a charger for nimh batteries and nice batteries. On the charger it warns to only charge nimh batteries.

Great works well

The instructions specifically say for nimh batteries only. Yet this package deal was offered with the 4 NiCad batteries. Now I feel that I cannot use the NiCad batteries. Otherwise the charger works great with any nimh batteries.
