Love is possible even after the end of the world
I just love a book that takes the conventional and tosses it out the window. Such is the case with Apophis, a Lesfic romance written into a tale of surviving a post-meteor apocalyptic Earth, specifically North Dakota. Through a shy Samantha's POV, she weaves a tale of how the ice age came upon the world after the meteor hit and her family's escape from their homestead after raiders attack them and kill her mother. It's on the trail where her Dad and she rescues a couple of travelers from bandits that she meets Nora. The attraction is immediate and intense for both of them, but alas, awkwardness and raw survival make acting on their attraction not so easy. Watching these two women fall in love under extraordinary circumstances was a thrilling and intense experience. The balance of writing the romance into the story of survival was crafted masterfully with well placed bits of sarcasm and humor to tame the seriousness of the situation that EL is so adept at writing. FYI - if you search EL's blog you will be blessed to find an additional short of what happens next. It will be worth your time to know what happens to these two wonderful young women.

Apophis
This book enraged me. Not because it was poorly written or because the story had unforgivable flaws, but because it was just so damned good and I didn’t want it to end. This doesn’t really surprise me since Lentzski has written other books that were just as wonderful. The book simply left you hungry for more - kind of like when you’re eating your favorite comfort food and you put that last bite in your mouth, and you try and savor it but you’re still craving more.

....like a box of chocolates....
Having read all of Eliza's books, I decided to give this one a try. I've never read apocalyptic stories before so that's probably why I took so long to read Apophis. Well, silly me. What a wonderful read. Nothing about this book was a disappointment. I'm starting to think that there's nothing Eliza can't write. I loved the story and I loved the characters. I would even go so far as to say that this is my favorite of her books.I'm not one to give away spoilers, so I won't say too much. But here's the thing. If you've steered clear of this book because post apocalyptic stories aren't your thing. then I dare you to give this one a try. Go on, do it. You won't be disappointed.

Sorry it ended!
I've read and have enjoyed all of this author's books. The setting for this story was quite different so I was a little on the fence about purchasing a book with an apocalyptic type storyline but I like the author so much I took a chance. I loved it from beginning to end, in fact I'm hoping she has a sequel in mind. Characters were both sweet, strong, stubborn and likeable. Would definitely recommend!

Swoon
Eliza can pretty much do no wrong. Master at sucking you in and keeping you invested in a story. Sam and Nora's story was beautiful, but also realistic with the environment these characters live in. I'm not a sequel person, but this book needs a sequel. The characters make me swoon!

Warm and Gushy
Despite the apocalyptic cold, I still felt warm and gushy when I was done. I loved the back and forth between the character and the fact that the story actually had a not only a plot, but a good one at taht! It was a good read and I will recommend it to my friends.

Superb story and worth a Read
Eliza Lentzski wrote a story about an Apocalyptic called Apophis. It follows two family's who are trying to reach a place called Eden. There is murder, cruelty, and love. The earth is now in an ice age. The first family witness the murder of the mother, leaving a father, grandmothers and a young woman. The second family a father and daughter who are saved by them. The story is well written and worth reading. The author has you thinking that this could happen to anyone but also believing that mankind would behave this way to each other. One that I will be reading again.

Brrilliant
A tale of hope against the odds and a love that was worth keeping on going for. Two women proving they can find a way to survive in a situation that seemed hopeless. Losing people you love but not losing hope for the future. was soo glad for the extended ending as it made me think they would make it.

An enjoyable read.
I like this author but this was different and as the story moved along, the more I got into it. I found the two girls a little slow getting there, did they get there, read it an see. Ange

Dystopian fairy tale
If you have not read any of Eliza Lentzski's books this is a good one to start with but you should then immediately get the rest of her books. This story is set in a future where the earth has been plinged into a new ice age called the Frost. This story follows Sam, Nora and their fathers as they try to survive. The story has a hopeful aspect as they find love and a future in very harsh circumstances. This hope and the luck to defy the odds is what makes this a fairy tale which I think is a good thing. This is a very well written book which will not let you go until the end.
