This book is the best book I have read on children's reaction to trauma and crisis. This book is beneficial to anyone who has children in their lives.

This book is excellent for those who are first to respond to a crisis as well as those who provide ongoing treatment for children, youth and families.

Good resource for understanding how trauma effects children of all ages! Using to help write a graduate paper on post trauma symptomology.

Although I have not read this book yet, I purchased it for an online class. I was happy to receive it in good condition for an extremely good price.

I came across this book while trying to get myself up to speed on the psychological consequences of early childhood abuse (primarily emotional, physical) for my two boys adopted at age 7. Written for professionals, I found it contains very useful information for motivated parents of older adopted children, particularly those with difficult memories of an earlier life with biological parents or at the orphanage. By definition, adopted kids all have trauma issues to work through at some point, and this text helped point me in the right direction as to what professional resources were needed. The book was a great help in identifying how past problems manifest themselves in current behaviors, some of which require professional help to work through -- and the sooner, the better. It includes a great introduction to use of a very effective and relatively new treatment used for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), called EMDR, in dealing with childhood trauma. My sons subsequently went through this very effective treatment with great results in a very short time. Highly recommended, even 10 years after printing.
