Fashionable Travel Pants!
I purchased these pants for our trip to Ireland and they resisted the rain quite well. I also travel all over Europe, so I wanted a pant that that didn't look too touristy (no cargo pockets or zip off leggings) and could easily be used in place of dress pants to save space in my carry on bag for those budget airlines. They look feminine, not baggy and the backside looks nice too. The color I purchased was coal (dark gray) and it is the perfect color for blending in with the neutral color palette in Europe as well as pair with any color top. The bottom legs roll up into a capri which looks much nicer than having the zip off legging. I'm 5'7" 120 lbs. with slender build and normally wear a size 2, the size 2 PrAna pant fit perfectly with plenty of room to be active in. There is a draw string inside of the waist as well to adjust as needed. My only issue with these pants is that the front buttons will eventually all fall off, so my suggestion is to reinforce sew them on yourself as soon as you get them. These pants are a great investment and I fully intend to buy more!

Finally! Hiking pants for tall girls!
I'm a 6-foot-tall lady who enjoys hiking and I have long struggled to find "adventure pants" that would work for me. I'm usually stuck hiking in leggings in the fall, winter and spring since most women's hiking pants make me look like I'm prepping for a flood.I'm not really picky: if you're going to sell a "TALL" or a "LONG," give me a 35" or 36" inseam and be mindful of the fact that women have hips (I'm lookin' at you, North Face with your hip-hating ways) and I will be a customer for life. I know tons of other ladies who would be, too. These pants deliver on all of that: they're roomy in the hips (something you need when scaling hills and scrambling over rocks), they are long enough (but not so long that they get stepped on or drag in the mud), and they make your bum look really good. That's a tall order for technical fabric such as these are made of but they really do: someone at Prana has actually SEEN a bum before, apparently (looking at you again, North Face...maybe you should get out more and really *ahem* embrace what the female form looks like?).If you're between sizes, I recommend sizing up as they have a drawstring.Did I mention they convert into capris, too? So see? You *will* be set should things get flooded. Buy these and happy hiking, tall ladies!

Looks great (on the photo). Fits poor (on me). Very impractical. Bad value (for the price)
I bought/tried on these pants a few times, from different stores/websites. They are highly rated so I desperately wanted to love them, but I don't. Here are the reasons:(1) These pants don't fit me. I usually wear size 6 pants, but the size 6 of Halle Pants are very loose on me. It will be OK if such loose pants have higher elastic waist, or a smaller waist band that sits a bit higher. The built-in tie is a good idea on paper, but still leaves a big gap between my lower back and the waist band when I bend slightly over. Meanwhile the ties are tight enough to leave deep marks on my belly skin, while I still have to constantly pull the pants up due to the feeling that they are dropping. The next day I wear it it's even bigger/looser because the fabric stretches! The next time I bought a size down - size 4. Now this is too small everywhere. The waist fits fine but I can hardly move in it. Too tight and uncomfortable and I am afraid the button will burst very quickly. Bottom line: size 6 too big (because of the giant low waist), size 4 too small, size 5 not available. These are just not made for my body shape/size!(2) Helle's pockets are mostly useless. The front ones are barely big enough to fit your hands in, and I have very small hands. the zip pockets are only for a couple of keys or a card, or maybe some coins. Won't fit a small wallet unless it's a toy wallet for Barbie. The back pockets are not deep enough. My Samsung 7 phone sticks out 1/3 of the way on the top, and that's the only place for a modern smart phone. None of the front or zipped pocket will fit one. This is a pair of cargo pants that's not designed for actually carrying any cargo!(3) button - only one! lightly threaded and can fall off in the worst situations, but at least you can reinforce it w/ more threads.(4) Too hot in warm weather. Material don't breath well. Fine for spring/fall. Just don't sweat too much in it.(5) too long for me.So, since I used a pair for hiking, I kept it. I returned the rest. I love their appearances, just not their utility, nor their price for such low value. The pair I kept was never worn again after one wash. I am going to donate it soon.

as to sizing
I didn't know what size to get, so I tried on this pant at REI, in both the Coal (navy blue) & khaki colors, in both size 8 and 10.In the blue, both sizes fit, the 8 snug and stretching over my curves, the 10 NOT too big: I couldn't decide, kept trying both on, came to decision I preferred the 10.The khaki color fit in 10 but was too snug and underwear-line-showing in size 8.As I was trying the 10 on, a button came off, definitely these need to be hand sewn on with stronger thread.(I am 5'6", 150lb, much of that weight in my legs, 36A.) I typically wear "Large" or size 10 bottoms; I wear size 8 in Columbia Perfect Fit hiking pants. So: I ordered size 10 in the Prana Halle pant, in green, and I love it! I will order the other colors in size 10 too. My butt looks really great in these! And I like its thicker material, though the Outdoor Research hiking pant material is lighter cooler for summer. I wore them today biking to yoga class, very comfy to bike in.Though just got them, Prana Halle is my favorite of all these 3 hiking pants -- comparing Outdoor Research or Columbia just right.1-yr update: I have now purchased this Halle pant in 4 colors (but not khaki), it is my favorite pant ever, I no longer wear any other kind. It is perfect for hiking, bike commuting, and looks like a nice slack, can even be dressed up with a nice top for going out. I am sorry I bought those other hiking pants!
