Works excellent
So much better than our old one that plugged in by usb cable and the cable would not stay plugged in and would come out with the slightest movement, putting our lives at risk. This one plugs in and it tested out fine as well. Very loud!!

Picks up more than natural gas
We have had one of these near the gas stove for a couple of years and it works reliably to detect even a tiny gas leak caused by the burner valve being slightly open. Recently during a windy night the detector started shrieking, and did so wherever it was moved around the first floor. Turns out the wind was blowing fumes in from the attached garage, where a battery charger was left on the car battery overnight. Nothing felt like it was too hot, but after unplugging the charger and opening all of the downstairs doors the sensor went back to zero. So now there is a new additional sensor in the garage! It can even pick up a cap left off of a gas can. Great safety item for house and garage.

Gas detector has relay output
This review is being written on 11/5/2020 specifically about the “Eksahol” branded “RV Propane | Natural Gas, Gas Leak Detection Home Gas Alarm, High Sensitivity LPG LNG Coal Natural Gas Leak Detection, Alarm Monitor Sensor for Motorhome | Camper | Maring (12v)” device. Amazon tends to group reviews together incorrectly and there is obviously some confusion in the reviews I’ve read of this product. This version does not just output a 12v signal when gas is detected as some have mentioned. There may be others that do. Inside the case in the picture I have posted you can see the relay as the little orange box in the lower lefthand corner of the board. The sticker on the back also shows that the 3 wires coming out from that are for normally open or normally closed alarm systems so given that this should be able to be integrated into any standard alarm system or used to sound a larger siren elsewhere or the relay just ignored completely if you don’t need that. You’ll also see on the board a pretty standard looking gas detector device (the black circle with the screen over it’s inlet) and the super loud piezo buzzer which is the larger black device without anything covering it’s opening. I’ts also interesting to note that the additional circuitry on the board that is not populated seems to be for a 220v power supply to run the device. There is a plugin or wire in version somewhere that runs on line voltage but this is not that.I have not tested the sensitivity or longevity of the device yet I just wanted to help clear up, or at least add to, the confusion in the review section about the relay output or not. It’s entirely possible that earlier versions did not include the relay and just brought out the 12v. You may still be able to tap that at the “output” pins if that is what you need, and if that is not available there then definitely at the coil inputs for the relay. But if you need a contact closure output the device I’m holding in my hand on this date definitely has that. The relay and board are not a sealed device suitable for explosive atmospheres though. Connecting the relay to an alarm system or the GPIO inputs of some other monitoring device should be perfectly safe as virtually no current is passing through the contacts. Connecting it to a large siren or other high current device might be a bit dangerous as it’s possible a spark could be made in the contacts which might be able to ignite the gas that is is sensing depending on concentration and a thousand other things that make it very unlikely, but not impossible. After I’ve further played with it I’ll amend the review if it turns out not to be functional or can’t actually sense the gas, but it looks good so far.

in the middle on this one
Detector only seems to alert when in 5 foot proximity. It does detect but, i was hoping it would alert further away.
