Be Prepared to Adapt and Fabricate
Five stars for the product itself. It's exactly the invention I've been wanting to make for years but never got around to it. Installation, in my circumstance, took quite a bit of brainstorming. But in the end, it all worked out, and aside from not getting a bowl grommet in my packet, everything went (mostly) smooth.I live in TX and we don't have basements. Some old houses around here have a crawlspace, but anything built in the last 30yrs is on slab; so no easy access to drain plumbing. Our kitchen sink is plumbed up from the slab into our island, which also houses the dishwasher to its left. In order to connect it to the sink drain, I would have needed to mount the unit taller than my dogs and cats can reach, that wasn't going to work. So my dad, an HVAC tech, suggested using a condensate evacuation pump to drain the overflow... so that's what I did.Simple in concept, yet quite the project in getting it assembled. Specifically getting everything to fit behind the dishwasher where you can't reach to make any adjustments once starting to push the dishwasher back into place. I had to get the low-profile version of the Little Giant pump to fit in the space. Someone else's review on here said to be prepared for several trips to the hardware store; I would 2nd that statement for sure.So far, everything is working correctly. The bowl is filling and the overflow is draining and the pump is pumping it over into a vent stack on the sink drain, which will need to be secured in place at some point when I have time, and then the only other thing left to do is find a grommet or other solution to fix the leakage between the fill float and the bowl. All together, took me about 2 days, but I am slow and take lots of breaks when working for myself 🤣.P.S. the tube hanging down off the counter has nothing to do with this. I just forgot to move it for the pic.

Works well
This is working out well. The dogs use it and I love having automatic water. I had a plumber install it, and it was NOT fun to install.

Great but with a few caveats...
If you are on the fence for an automatic water bowl feeder, this SHOULD be your #1 pick. For DIY people out there, prepare yourself for several trips to your local hardware store! There are though a couple of improvements that this product could have benefited from. A pump that forced water from stagnating would be great. A timed “flush” of the water would also be an addition that would place this automatic water bowl in another league. The reasons are as follow:A forced overflow was done to test the draining capabilities in case of a float failure and although it was installed much higher than the draining pipes and the PVC Tee, gravity is not enough to force water down the P-Trap. Unless you keep in mind a monthly or bi-weekly schedule to force this water down the drain pipes, the water WILL stay there and remain stagnant.Unless your pet drinks enough water to force the float to replenish the bowl, the is no mechanism in place to “refresh” the bowl on its own. There are a couple of modifications that I will be implementing to overcome these limitations, but overall the plastic mold and thought behind this product leaves other “automatic water bowl” solutions in the dust!

Do not buy this, water runs non stop.
It constantly runs. We attached it to our bathroom sink. We have a drain in our utility room so no need to hook up the bowls drain system. Probably a good idea. We would have never notice this thing continues to overfill the bowl and drains out. Hate to see the water bill.So we turn it on and off. Not the point of the product right?? Never mind the hole in our cabinet. The board across the top was out there to reinforce and not continue to shift the product/screws when we took the bowl out.You can see how close our drain is. Hence no need to try to figure out a drain system if it broke it wouldn’t do damage to our house. The black tray fills completely with water when left on. We put a couple holes in it for those times we didn’t get right there to shut off the water when filling the hole.Sending the product back is the next step. But my cabinet will forever be ruined. 🤬The next time it is running I will attempt to get a video of the water running in the tray. The thing is had we put the drain on, we would have never known it was constantly running water. After the bowl gets full it isn’t easy to see it’s still filling and it is quieter the fuller it becomes.Out a cabinet and $ on my water bill. Skip this one. I believe it’s a if your lucky it might work for you product. If your not you are left with the damage and cost.
