Improvement Over the Original Handle
I just received and installed this lever in one of my Toto toilets. It fits just like the original and works fine. Some of the reviewers have remarked that this replacement lever is a cheap piece of junk. I'm pretty sure both the new and original handles are metal. See my attached picture. It shows that this replacement is reinforced substantially compared with the original one. In the picture I've disassembled the handles to show the spot where the original wore out. The top one is this one, the new one. The bottom is the original one. There is a red circle around the wear damage. You should be able to see that the oval channel is deeper, thicker and also is reinforced with a fin.

Although the parts are mismatched and proprietary, you CAN make it work.
I am sad to say that I doubt I will buy another Toto toilet again. It is one thing to have parts that break (see below) but when the necessary component is sized "too small" to prevent use of OEM parts (err.. Encourage you to buy Genuine Replacement Parts) and even IF you buy the Genuine Part, it still does not work correctly... ...Simply Amazing. The ProblemFor myself, I have a pair of 2006-era Toto Drake CST743S toilets, and as others have said, the metal handle connects to the metal arm by a PLASTIC tube which is held in place by a PLASTIC nut. Where the PLASTIC nut is tightened onto the PLASTIC tube creates a pressure point, which over time can break/snap. A few days ago this happened to me. Purchased a set of OEM handles that were allegedly rated to work with Toto toilets, but the "square piece" was "too big" to fit through the "square hole" on the side of the tank. When I called Toto to ask Why This Was, I was told that this was to Encourage Us To Buy Genuine Parts. Sent the OEM handles back to Amazon and ordered the Genuine one.Through the Looking GlassWith the Official Genuine Toto THU068 in hand, I connected it to the toilet... ...and it did not work. Amazingly, whilst the first handle was about 13-14 "links of chain" to move the flapper, the new handle needed at least 20. (?!) After switching the length-of-chain, I noticed that there was still an issue with arm being NOT QUITE the same shape/angle/etc. I pulled parts from the other toilet to compare: The two 2006-era parts were identical (obviously) whilst the 2018 parts seemed to come from an Alternate Reality where things were slightly different - toilet handles included. I was considering getting some pliers and a hammer to re-shape the 2018 arm so it would better match my 2006-era arms, when I realized that the odds were everything had changed EXCEPT the plastic pieces, as that's the weak link which fails, so that's the part which will never, ever change. The SolutionYes. The metal parts may have changed, but the plastic pieces were indeed the same twelve years later. Parts Kept: - 2006 Handle - 2006 Arm Parts Replaced - 2018 Plastic Tube Piece (as 2006 one broken) - 2018 Plastic Nut (as I lost the 2006 one in the shuffle) - 2018 Screw (why not?) - 2018 tiny metal piece that holds the Metal Arm inside the Plastic Tube (etc). So basically I bought the 2018 Genuine THU068 for $20, tossed the handle and the arm, and just swapped out the plastic parts with the (broken) ones from my original 2006 handle. Put the length-of-chain back to where it was before - FIXED!

Read this to know if this is the right lever, and more
This part THU068#cp is a polished chrome Drake replacement trip lever for the ST743S Toto toilet tank. (you can find this number inside the toilet tank, usually towards the top, stamped on in a black ink.It is for a Drake CST74SLR toilet, ADA compliant, 1.6 GPF (gallons per flush) ( I got on the Toto site and tried to guess which toilet matched mine, all I knew was that it was a Toto toilet. The handle is a left hand side mount trip lever. According to Toto there is not a universal toilet lever that can be substituted for this lever.Toto USA 888-295-8134According to reviews online for this tolet lever, the nut and bolt are made of a type of plastic, and tend to break or wear out every 5-7 years. Which I did not know when I agreed to let the plumber put this type of toilet in my home. AND which the tech support at Toto denied was the case.He was defensive and said basically that roughhousing cause it. I told him NOT in THIS house, and not according to online reviews of this part.My lever had the end of the bolt snap off, which I did not immediately notice because it was still IN the nut...that I kept trying to screw back on.My lever had a zinc arm. The lever now has a brass colored metal arm. When I tried to put the lever in, I found that the arm was raised a little too high, and a little to much to the middle of the tank and interfered with the floating device for this tank. I had to slightly bend the arm.(So put it in, see where it is for you, but don't hook it up yet, in case you need to pull it out to bend it a bit...so you don't snap the arm off the bolt. When you tighten the bolt, you want to make sure there is still some play, and the handle is not too tight. It should go down when you push it and come up by itself when the float device rises. It is important when replacing any toilet handle to know:if they are side or front mountif they are right or left (think which hand do you flush the toilet with when you are facing the toilet handle)U TUBE has a lot of good video's on how to do this.IF I can change the lever, so can you.

It was the right replacement for me.
I have the ST743 tank (stamped on the inside of the tank, also information on the underside of the tank lid). The handle broke at the same place as I've seen in some other posts. When the handle is rotated it flops the end of the flush lever that rides inside a channel in the handle forcing the flush end up. The handle is metal but it's cheap pot metal and not the most durable. The flush lever eventually wears out the wall of the channel. There is only 1 screw that secures the trip level to the handle and as I think about this, I may add a little silicon grease to the inside of the channel to decrease friction and extend the life of the channel.I'm keeping the old handle, I believe I can repair it for a back up, I used a tie wrap as a form and filled the break in the channel with epoxy, it would have worked but the mix on the epoxy was not right and the epoxy did not set up as hard as it should have, will have another go at it (see photo). The new handle installed easily and the only concern per instructions is to minimize slack in the chain that attaches to the flapper

It fit my ST706 Toto toilet as advertised!
I only gave it a 4 star as although it states it fits, it seemed a little tight around the the intake system. The handle doesn't seem to snug up against the toilet reservoir on the outside but everything functions as it's supposed to and that is most important. A universal part would have not been nearly as plug and play. So if you have a Toto and need this part, go for it!Cheers

Very good quality.
I’ve been trying to find a compatible one for a long time. I’ve bought and return a lot that don’t quite fit. This one was the closest I’ve seen to the original one that I took out. I had to add a part from the old one but it works perfectly and delivery was fast. Overall I’m pleased.
