I am a big believer in this product! I am in my late 30s, and suffice it to say, my skin is no longer as robust and resilient as it was in my early 20s. The darker spots are no longer as pronounced, and I feel like my skin has become smoother and less dried out! Although I still have sunspots on my skin, they have definitely lightened up quite a bit--and that's all due to 2.5 weeks of using this product!There are quite a few benefits to this product. I've learned so much about the different types of collagen just from reading the label on the canister. Specifically, Smarter Nutrition's Skin Collagen uses Type I collagen, the type that is most nutritious and complementary to skin collagen. Because this collagen is ingested, it actually goes to work much more effectively in the body (vs. using a topical skin collagen that only replaces surface level skin collagen). Being in academia myself, I was particularly drawn to the effects demonstrated in the clinical studies on this product! Dermatologists who conducted this study found that participants noticed a reduction in wrinkles, age spots, and improved brightness of skin after using this product for one month. Wow!Last, I am a little bit of a gadget nerd, and I love the handy shaker that comes along with Smarter's product! Like a nutritional shaker, it helps to blend the formula well into water (or whatever beverage you want to add it to). However, it has a handle that helps to stir your drink as you continue to sip through the entire bottle. This is great for smoothies or other drinks that need to be stirred, or iced beverages that need to be cooled down quickly. I have tried other collagen powders in the past, and NONE of them have tasted as good as Smarter's collagen. I think the ones I tried had other types of collagen (like bovine sources, which can be good for other bodily needs and restoration, but to be honest should be left to soups and other savory meals), and Smarter's Blueberry flavor actually tastes like blueberries (because they're naturally part of the antioxidant blend of ingredients!). The collagen is low in sugar, but high on flavor and has been a really refreshing treat during the hot summer months.

The taste was better than I expected and except for the fact that it separates some if you take awhile to drink it, which is solved by just stirring it again, I liked the product in terms of drinkability. I have minor wrinkles around my eyes so I guess there really wasn't much of an improvement I could have gained from using this product, but I didn't notice any change after I'd finished the one container I bought. Maybe that wasn't long enough for my situation, I don't know. My only real complaint is that the directions aren't quite as clear as they could be. They tell you how to mix it but give no indication as to how often to use it in order for it be effective. I assumed they were suggesting to use it once a day, but that seems like a fairly important piece of information and I'm surprised that they missed including it.

I’m not a very scientific person and I do almost everything by feel and I’m very much into holistic, natural, internal healing and maintenance of health. Never had a surgery in my life either. I let her do my health thinking for me and it’s worked so far but there is something special about this product. So apparently at a certain age we lose collagen in our skin, and that’s what’s happening to me. So in order to regain that it needs to be the right collagen and apparently this product is. As soon as I started using it I could see a change. I’ve used so many exterior topical products over the years and while they feel nice and smell nice they don’t really do anything drastic. But in a few short weeks I was like “wow! I don’t need a facelift!” LOL. I’m pretty excited about this product, that I can take it internally! Also it actually tastes really good and I would actually drink this as a beverage just because, but knowing that it’s changing the quality of my skin and restoring my youthful looks is so exciting. I highly recommend it.
