Trimax TRZ8PB Black 8" Powder Coat Drop Hitch

Overall this is just a piece of junk. I've had one problem after another. When the hitch was new, YES, there is a lot of "slop". When you hit a bump, the hitch has so much freeplay you can feel it from the driver's seat! Second the hitch corroded so badly after only a year or two, that the adjustment holes are no longer usable. Finally the lock stopped working (key got stuck in the lock), despite oiling it regularly and keeping dust, sand, and salt away from it.The worst part is the customer service. They ONLY WARRANTY THIS PRODUCT FOR 90 DAYS!!! No matter what you find online, the warranty is 90 days!! I filed a complaint with the department of consumer protection and trade due to false advertising. When I bought it, it was advertised with a lifetime warranty. The customer service of the company, especially Jim, are not helpful and don't even know their products. I sent him pictures of mine, model numbers, receipts, etc, and he told me story after story but never fixed anything. I was told the lock was a easy-to-fix $12 part. Yet suddenly this part doesn't fit my hitch! I was told the locks have a lifetime warranty -- well they don't. I was told they would give me a great deal on a new model for my trouble -- then they told me Amazon has better prices than their "great deal".I will never buy a Trimax product again, not because the product fails and is of poor quality, but because of their terrible customer service!

I am located very close to TRIMAX and have gone in to headquarters many times to add more keyed alike accessories to my fleet (well over 100 items total) Originally started with a 12” drop Razor and as my trailers, tongue weight, and loads grew larger, I decided to add the 8” drop since I rarely used the drop past that amount.I ordered from amazon and put it into immediate use. After a few weeks the lock “tumbler” started to spin freely and wouldn’t hold the pin securely in position, so I brought it in. Their repair department got to it the same day and gave it back. Put it back into use for another couple weeks and it happened again (only when I went to change the height), so I took it in and they replaced the entire unit. Haven’t had any issues since. Have more than tested the load ratings on both the 12” drop and the 8” drop (on shorter trips) without any problems. Have at least 35,000 miles of towing between these two. Have to say I’m impressed for the price range. Will keep these for lighter duty use now as I upgrade to one of the higher weight rated ones since I need that at this point.I will agree that the finish on this model isn’t going to last forever, but it’s something you literally abuse the heck out of. If you’re in an area that uses salt during winter, either get aluminum, or replace this one as needed. Still a great value.There is also a little bit of play, which I only notice while towing lighter loads, or very long trailers. I can recommend looking into something with anti sway compatibility if you are doing longer miles with longer trailers. I’d did do several trips over 3,000 miles with a 26’ trailer without issues.I have also dealt with the sales team at TRIMAX on other orders, and they have always done their best to provide exceptional service. I always recommend them to people that want to have keyed alike towing/locking accessories, HOWEVER, you need to contact them directly for that and it will cost more.

Item shipped fast and as described. Got awesome price on a good adjustable hitch. Mine came with the locking pin to lock to truck with matching keys. One thing to note is that the hitch pin lock does not work with 2.5inch hitches but you can use the pin you already have. The hitch looks overall good quality, adjusts easily and quickly. It does have a little play where the ball mount connects to the shank but once the trailer was connected I was unable to feel or hear any slop or play. This hitch may not be the best one out there but it is not the most expensive one either, Overall I feel it has good value for the price and I'm happy with the purchase.

My house is located on a corner and I have a driveway on the side for my travel trailer. This driveway is much higher than the sidestreet and this caused a lot of problems driving down into the street due to the fact that the front of the trailer would scrape the driveway. The Trimax hitch solved this problem because it hitches up very close to my vehicle and I can now backup and drive down the driveway without having to change the hitch.

Bought this 6 1/2 yrs ago. Have used it tow trailers to Florida, South Carolina, Lake Erie and back many tines since then. Works great. Getting ready to purchase another for my son for his trailer he just bought. If people had them rust real bad it was probly cause they left it on their vehicle all the time not just for towing. It's a bit heavy and has a little slop but I love it.

I bought this for my wife's Jeep with a 2" tow hitch to tow our raft trailer to go rafting, it was so loose in the hitch receiver the trailer was wobbling at least a foot back and forth consistently. Didn't make it 5 miles down the road. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. Luckily I had a different hitch or the trip would have been ruined.

Works great. Now my horse trailer rides level.

Product did not come with key, returned for different product. Fitment seemed very loose.

Used for a month. First time adjusting the height it's broken. Contacted Amazon for warranty they told me I need to go through manufacturer. Contacted manufacturer and they asked me to fill out form on their website. Did so 2 weeks ago with no response....Additionally the black powder coating has co.e off already and the ball is completely rusted.

Purchased for my crew. Great hitch. The guys love the versatility
