Pezzettino Paperback – Picture Book, January 10, 2012

I bought this for my (then) 4 year old, because we love books about characters who have a journey about fitting in (who doesn't like an underdog?). I also love Leo Leonni's work in general, because it speaks to children without speaking down to them. It didn't really connect with her.One day, my 2 year old, who loves to look through his sister's bookcase, pulled it out and asked me to read it. He loved it instantly, so much so that he took it to his bookcase, and it's been staying there ever since and is read pretty frequently. Sometimes, when he's in a playful mood, he will even tell me "I am Pezzettino", and pretend to be going on a boat. Or will start telling the story in the car randomly.

i live this book and its great fun to read to prek class and you can do an activity with small squares after reading i have the kids drs a figure with a pencil and apply squares to it and tell their story

I read this book from the school library as a kid and kept borrowing it over and over again. Recently I remembered it and bought a copy. It gives me the same magical feeling that I had as a child, 40 years ago. I realise that I still love it and that there is still a child in me somewhere.

We all enjoyed this book. Especially nice for little ones as it shows how we are just little pieces but we can be part of a whole new thing or just be us and it is ok both ways. We looked at art afterwards to see how some paintings are made up of dots or lines but put together it makes a picture of something lovely,

I loved Leo Lionni books growing up. I really liked the illustration of all his books. Pezzettino was new to me and was just as awesome as others. My son loved it

We love this book! I think it is the perfect book for a 4-8 year old. My son loves it and always ask me what is my favorite part. It is beautifully written, fun and colorful illustrations. I love the meaning in the story and I can tell my son does too.

A real gem! I am so glad to find this book written by one of my favorite authors. The illustrations are large and support the text, which is about who we are. Brings up questions by the child. Will accompany the story with a project of making our own pezzettino with different colored squares of construction paper.

This sweet story has beautiful illustrations which are very communicative themselves. And the story is excellent - a good message in a child's language.

It was engaging for my Kindergarten students when we were learning about area and using square tiles for math. A great little introduction for using squares to cover pictures in a book.

This beautiful book is on Ron de Santis's forbidden books list, due to it being 'too woke'. For the life of me, I can't see what in the world is wrong with it! It's wonderfully painted, aimed at small children - pre-school and years 1 and 2 - who wouldn't have any concept of 'woke' anyway.

il libro è arrivato come sempre nei tempi stabiliti ed in ottime condizioni di imballaggio. il contenuto del libro poi è molto profondo, adatto per far riflettere adulti ma semplicissimo da capire anche per i bambini....l'ho letto ed abbiamo fatto le nostre riflessioni....ed i miei bambini hanno 3, 6 e 8 anni!!!

Ich kannte das Buch schon und habe es zum Verschenken gekauft. Pezzettino glaubt, er sei nur ein Teil von irgendetwas und macht sich auf die Suche nach dem, zu dem er gehört. Schließlich entdeckt er, dass auch er "ganz" ist und aus vielen verschiedenen Teilen besteht. Ein schönes Buch für Menschen, die auf der Suche nach sich selbst sind.

J'adore Pezzetino! on ne le trouve plus! aussi quand je l'ai vu disponible, je me suis précipitée pour le commander! un peu trop! si j'étais descendue plus bas dans la page, j'aurais peut-être compris que le livre est EN ANGLAIS ! ce qui n'est mentionné nulle part. Dommage!
