Tired of cleaning blast gates, or gates changing positions, GET THESE and Problem solved!
I got tired of cleaning plastic blast gates and replaced all 15 blast gates in my shop with these, because they have an open bottom (see picture) and do not require cleaning. They are very durable and almost perfect. Unfortunately the gates dont come with instructions, but there are a couple important things when installing these gates: First of all, the gates have a know to lock the gate in open or closed position. If you want want them to slide like plastic gates, adjust the the knob so it slides briefly on the slider, this will keep the gate in open or closed position and you dont have to open or tighten the knob every time. Note, the knob wont hold your adjustment, but I put a drop of blue (semi permanent) Locktite on the thread. With this, the knob keeps the adjustment, and it can be re-adjusted should the need arise. The mounting flanges for hose connections are rather short, but if you use good hose clamps and place them all the way up, they hold perfectly. If you want the gates to be air tight when the gates are closed, install the gates with the locking knob pointing towards your machine/ away from the dust collector (see picture). By doing this, the knob pushes the gate towards the dust collector side and the gate makes an air tight seal.Note: If you mount the gate with knob pointing towards dust collector, you will get air leaks, because the slot for the gate is rather wide and the knob creates a gap on this side of the gate.Lastly, I sprayed my gates with a little bit of dry lube, this makes them slide very easy and they stay perfectly in open or closed position.

Get these, don’t waste your money on plastic ones
Good solid construction. I wish I would have bought these from the start.

Work great. Nice, sturdy blast doors
These are great. I bought a few of them for a PVS air filtration system I added to my garage. When I saw their quality I immediately ordered several more to replace plastic ones I had installed under my island work bench. They feel like they're going to last a good long time.

Good blast gate
Easy to operate. They rattle but that's my only "complaint." Worth the purchase.

Value. Using it to regulate combustion air to wood furnace.

Don't buy plastic. Spend $5.00 more and get aluminum. Well worth it!
Attached to the two 4" ports out of my Jet dust collector using POWERTEC 70149 Dust Control Flex Cuff with Hose Clamps, 4-Inch. Solid connection to ports and to flex-hose using good clamps.Easy to raise or lower these units come with knobs now, not set screws.Avoid the plastic one unless you have lots of CA glue and enjoy fiddling with ill-fitting gates that will break the first time you accidentally hit them with anything heavier than a feather. You spent all that money on a dust collector. Don't be cheap now with plastic ones or spend your time making wooden ones that still won't be as good. These are the blast gates to buy.

Missing gate screw
The blast gate I received was missing the screw that sets the gate open or closed. Darn thing just vibrates and open/closes without the screw, and makes terrible noise. Unfortunately I needed this gate last week so I have to use tape on it in place of the missing screw.

Best I've tried. No leakage.
There is no leakage if you install them with the tightening screw towards the tool, that way it pushes the flap towards the dust collector and forms a leak proof seal. I've tried others that you can hear the air leaking past the gate. I bought 6 more of these to finish my dust collection system throughout my wood shop.
