Great . . . . except for the cracking at the seam
We've had a 2 qt Mr Coffee iced tea maker for as long as they've been made-this is our second one as the first finally had so many mineral deposits that the water didn't flow very well. We make probably 4 pots of tea a week year round and haveSad to say, we're on our 3rd or 4th pitcher for this maker, and I'm about to order yet another. The problem has always been the cracking at the seam directly below the pour spout, where the hot water drips into the pitcher. We've done the little tricks with pieces of aluminum foil, but eventually the pitcher cracks, just not as soon as it would without the aluminum foil diverting the tea so it doesn't pour directly along the seam. The plastic just does not handle ongoing exposure to the 180+ degreewater dripping directly onto and along the seam. Not putting ice in the pitcher, or adding ice after all the tea pours in, seems to prolong the use before the cracking gets reall bad, but doing this kind of defeats the purpose of having an ICED tea maker, especially since it takes a lot longer for the ice to cool the tea once the tea begins to cool. The result is "tepid tea" unless you put it in the fridge for a while to get cold. We've also used several different kinds of glue once a crack developed, but decided this probably wasn't worth the risk. Most household glues--including the super, crazy and gorilla varieties, are not "food grade" adhesives, so glueing means taking your chances about leaching glue chemicals into your tea. It's hard to understand why a single pitcher costs 60-75% of the price of the entire tea maker--especially since sometimes the maker comes with 2 pitchers. If the pitcher's lasted and only needed to replaced if they were truly damaged, I'd feel better about the price. Having to pay this much for replacements for what seems to be a defective design or material or both is irritating. So after all that--and it seems these are sentiments that are pretty universal among reviewers--the pitcher works great but doesn't last--I decided on a 3 star rating, a compromise between 5 for function and 1 for design and materials.

Considering leaving Amazon
I am considering not ever using Amazon again. They have started using a delivery company called Velocity Express which repeatedly asked me to come pick it up, with no delivery attempt. When I refused to come pick it up they sent it back, more than once, with more than one product. After complaining to Amazon they sent it again. Velocity Express just refused to deliver to me while, UPS, FEDEX, DHL, and the USPS are all quit happy to deliver to my door. Why not Velocity Express? When they finally did bring it, they sat in the car, called my on my phone (not happy about that either) and told me to come out and get it, while they sat in the car. (kind of made it look like a drug deal) Quit frankly the delivery people scared me a little too, worried about getting robbed by them.Amazon shipped through them even when I requested any other service. I canceled my Premium services over this and am considering not buying from Amazon again because of it.If I have to go pick it up, I might as well go to the store to get it, the only real advantage Amazon holds for me is that the products are delivered to my door. If the delivery service will not do that, then what advantage is there in Amazon?

I'm surprised at all of the negative reviews
I have had my Iced Tea Maker for over 10 years and recently added an additional pitcher. Instead of putting in ice in the pitcher I just brew it up and pour it in a jug that contains refrigerated water. Works wonders. And I even throw 'em in the dishwasher (with no heating for the drying cycle)-I drilled 3 tiny holes 120 degrees apart from the inside of the pitcher out with a 1/16" bit so the water doesn't get trapped. I also do a cleaning of the brewer every six months to keep the element from getting gunked up (it helps that I have soft water and I filter the water using a PUR faucet mount.) I typically drink a gallon of tea on a daily basis. I'll be sorry if/when it finally gives up the ghost as it appears you cannot get the old version anymore.

EXCELLENT! LOVED THIS MR. COFFEE TP3 REPLACEMENT PITCHER!!!
I was panicking about getting a replacement pitcher for my Mr. Coffee Tea Maker because of the prices all over the internet. I found them at anywhere from $18-30. (Just for the pitcher, not counting shipping). I was not going to pay that amount for a pitcher. Then, I came upon this great deal!!! $7.39 for the pitcher and $5.95 for shipping!!! Less than $14 to buy the pitcher and have it shipped to me!! YEAH!! I bought mine from BRAND VARIETY. Thank you very much for your great deal and fast shipping! Most of all, the pitcher was perfect and new as described. I am advising all of my family and friends to shop from BRAND VARIETY for their Mr. Coffee replacement pitcher needs. I loved it! Will come again, though hopefully, not soon. Ha. Hope this one lasts for awhile. Martha McLemore in TN

Wish I didn't have to buy this
My first iced tea carafe also split on the seam near the pour spout. It makes sense, that it would happen where all the boiling hot water gets dripped. The only thing I wanted to add about my purchase is that, while the pitcher is cheaper on the Mr. Coffee site, they wanted to charge $9 for shipping and handling. Since I have amazon prime, it was more effective to buy it from amazon. Also, I tried the aluminum foil idea from an earlier review--brilliant! Hopefully I won't have to buy another one.

ICE TEA FOR DADDY PLEASE !!!!
I BUY TWO AT A TIME TO ENSURE I HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO REORDER PRIOR TO WEAR OUT WHICH TAKES A LONG TIME. MY DADDY IS AN ICE TEA FANATIC IT HOLDS THE ICE THEN THE HOT TEA GOING IN AND I DO IT SO MANY TIMES A WEEK. I THINK I'VE REPLACED THESE MANY DOZENS OF TIMES OVER THE YEARS BECAUSE THERE IS NO SUBSITUTE. SO THIS IS THE ORIGINAL YOU HAVE TO USE FOR THE ICE TEA MAKER. THANK YOU MR COFFEE FOR YOUR GREATEST INVENTION. MY FATHER IS IN HIS LATE SEVENTIES AND HE LOVES HIS ICE TEA ONLY THIS WAY AND I LOVE HIM! THANK YOU AMAZON FOR HELPING MAKE MY DADDY HAPPY.
