Though I've been drinking barley grass daily for many years whether from New Zealand, from Japan, from EU or from China, I have never come across anything like this. How has it been produced (has it been heated?) and how fresh is it? When I left an opened packet at my mother's and discovered it after two or three years it looked similar to this. The colour is an unpleasant yellowish/faded green, rather like dried peas, it has an odd smell and the taste is not at all what I'm accustomed to (although I recognize that my perception of flavour may be influenced by the colour). Unfortunately, I had to open it to see the condition, otherwise I'd have sent it back. If it was someone's first experience drinking barley grass, I fear it would put them off what should be a great health promoting product.
