I recommend this book to anyone
Curtiss King is an extremely inspiring and motivating artist, rapper, producer, and teacher. In this book, he shares his experiences (that includes both his lowest and highest moments) in his life as both a musician and a man. His story is touching and comes from the soul. I will return to this book probably over a hundred times to keep me going in the right direction as I pursue my own dreams as a music producer. I recommend this book to anyone, especially those like myself that have a desire to make a living creating music and providing value for others. Thank You and God bless you Curtiss for this knowledge and sharing your experiences!

It’s almost like talking to him yourself!
This is @MonDillinger man. I don’t even write Amazon reviews but this book was more than deserving of a proper review.Curtiss King’s inspirational story can resonate with so many producers, artists and entrepreneurs all together. So many details of his early days as a producer had me thinking, “WOW I LITERALLY JUST WENT THROUGH SOMETHING LIKE THAT!” and when he explains his process and how he overcame it, it left me feeling like I could conquer the world. This book reads like a reference guide/biographical hybrid. As you read the book, you’re following Curtiss’ ups and downs (if you think your struggle as a producer/artist/entrepreneur is unique, get in line, because I thought the same until I realized that Curtiss was facing problems that I’m going through now, and more at that, and found a solution. He should have named the book Producer Lemonade, because he was handed a lot of lemons in life and found a way to make something out of nothing. He covers everything from understanding networking, to the truth about placements, to getting your name out there, personal brand, overcoming criticisms, the whole nine yards. He’s not some empty promise peddler whose selling dreams and telling you, “Now if you want to know the SECRET TO MAKING IT AS A PRODUCER, read my follow up book, “The PAID Hip-Hop Producer: Turning Prosperity into Long Term Opportunity.” I finished the book thinking, “I’m almost positive I missed another gem, I have to read this again.”I found myself cheering him on even though I knew he was already winning. The vulnerability and openness (and his perspective on vulnerability and openness) make the dynamics of this book both captivating and motivating. It feels as if Curtiss King told me his life’s story as we were riding down a highway on a sunny day in California. To every producer/artist/entrepreneur whose looking for a book that gives it to you straight about the industry without having the interest level of paint drying on a wall, this is the book. $20 can change your perspective and approach to an ever evolving industry while showing you that nothing is new under the sun, it’s just a few new rules to the game. Fantastic read.

This book was the confirmation I needed.
It's ya man Geri D' Fyniz aka @Th3Melan8dGawdPrior to August 2016 I was unaware of who Curtiss King was. However, due to an auto accident at my day job and being out of work for some time I was able to learn who he was via his YouTube channel. The circumstances that led me to his world were unfortunate, but at this point I wouldn't have it any other way. Everything that his brand stands for screams empowerment and I have no problem financially supporting this brotha. The book was informative and entertaining. Curtiss also gave just enough transparency while still making me want to learn more about him.I encourage any Rapper, Producer, Entrepreneur, etc to invest in this. The investment in this book is definitely an investment in your future.

Must read for any Entrepreneur and business owner!
I bought this book for my podcast music producer in January as a birthday gift. I read some of the reviews and thought sounds cool. He loved it and uses it in his daily music work. But before I gave it to him I had some time so I thought I’d read a few pages. I’m a Medical Consultant, educator and National speaker and thought this has nothing to do with mine like of work but I’ll check it out. I could not have been more wrong. The tidbits of wisdom, like “set your price, be competitive, but don’t waiver” made me realize that I set the industry standard, not a box that people try to put you in. Curtiss King has a unique take on the business side of not only the music industry through a producer’s eyes, but as an entrepreneur and that is where I connected with the book. His insight with the struggle in making things work on your own, but keep moving forward was so on point. As a business owner it’s important to find insight like this even if it’s not your genre, and it will speak to you on a level you can’t get with most business publications. I now have bought 3 copies, kept one for myself and gave another as a gift to a young up and coming musician. Need more Curtiss King? Follow him on Instagram. His live videos are awesome. ~ Terry Fletcher

Got bored with it after a while
I got tired of hearing about a grown mans playstation and all this silly stuff. Its was alright but it did have enough bite. There was hardly any tecnincal information about labels and software or whatever gems you may need for real. Only how he got a placement and didn't get paid and he thought someone was gonna steal his sneakers after school or something. Furthermore his fake southern accent was killing me. If your some little backpack producer chiseling off your mom fine buy it . but if your a grown man tryin to make moves and don't have that luxury save your money and get something ealse.

if you want something bad enough you HAVE to put the work in to ...
This is a book that every creative person, irrespective of whether you're into music or art or photography or whatever should have on their shelf, the message form the book is clear, if you want something bad enough you HAVE to put the work in to get there you have to struggle you have to survive but most importantly you have to persevere. What you'll get from this book is complete real life experience from childhood beginnings to the present day and all the many lows and highs that come with pursuing what you love, you won't find this sort of stuff spending hours on youtube or the internet. If you're looking for the "formula" to make the next big hit or a certified banger then this book isn't for you, but then again you'd already be looking at things the wrong way, if you're looking to find out what it actually takes to be successful (hint, its not a "magic formula" its a grind!) then this is the book for you.
