MAPEI UltraCare Grout Refresh, Universal Grout Colorant & Sealer, 8 oz Bottle – Easy Grout Restoration & Protection, 5006 Harvest

After twelve years, two puppies, two teenagers and all their friends tromping through the kitchen and dining room, my grouted tile floors were an eyesore! I considered ripping up the tile and putting down something new. I dreaded the noise, dust, and cost the project would have caused. I ran across this product while trying to pick out new tile and grout for a master bathroom remodel. I bought a bottle at my local home improvement store. The results were fabulous! The coverage and ease of use is incredible. My tile floors look brand new.I applied the product with a children's toothbrush. After the product dried, about 30 minutes, I went back and used a washcloth and Dawn soap to remove any grout refresh color that had got onto the tile. It came up easily from the tile, while staying adhered to the grout.This is an awesome product that saved me thousands of dollars. Depending on the size of your project, it is labor intensive, but so well worth it!Hint: I would make sure that you test the color before applying it in a large section. Colors can be tricky in different lights. I am an interior designer and had to try three colors before finding the perfect match for my tastes.Second, be sure you have knee pads or a low stool. I had a knee pad but found my knees and lower back ached for days after the project. However, I still thought the end results were worth the pain:)

This is a perfect color for my grout but was half used.I needed it asap so I kept it and ordered another bottle also. I never thought to take pictures before I cleaned it up but the black tip was cut open and leaking everywhere. Product works great tho!! Would’ve been a five star if bottle wasn’t half empty

For less than $20 you can't beat this stuff. Waited to write a review until 3 months afterwards to see if it actually held up with normal wear and mopping. No complaints. Relatively simple and cleanup wasn't bad.

Amazing product

If you’re trying to go lighter do not get this product. I did 3 applications in test area and the darker color still showed through. Another brand covered the dark with only 1 application.

Applying it is the easy part but cleaning up excess from the tiles is painful. The excess on the tiles when dried feels like latex. I used a toothbrush to apply and a plastic scraper to scrape off excess since my tiles are glossy and not textured. The product is misleading since it's a colorant but definitely not a sealant. I've had it done on my tiles two weeks ago and I can see the grout is starting to turn dark. I will try applying a regular sealant on top of it and see what happens.

I had some seriously dirty grout and was skeptical about the effectiveness and durability of Grout Refresh, so I waited 2 months after application to judge the results. First, follow the grout cleaning recommendations. Application is tedious, but as of today with weekly mopping of the tile, the grout color remains pristine with no break down. I could not be more pleased.

So far we are very impressed with this grout stain… I didn’t give it a five star because I only put it down last night November 16, 2018. Went on easy, wiped off the tile real easy to keep it just on grout... I’m covering very dark orangey red grout with a sandstone light colored grout stain, didn’t think it would do it but it did !!! I Will update my review when I see how well it stays and wears in high traffic area. This is in a bathroom.
