The product condition and quality is very good. Very nice, compact bookset. The books feel very good in hand, handsized books. Print is small, but easy to read. Paper quality is thin, but good for a compact, handsized, leather back, travel books. The look of the book is very elegant. The box for the bookset is good, leather encased and nicely holds the books. Though the leather is not real (on both books and box), but the feel is good. Easy to adjust in shelves. I am very pleased with this amazing, elegant, compact book set. 5stars from me.

TLDR: A masterpiece, but will you'll have to commit a significant chunk of your time to it.If you are thinking of reading the series after watching the HBO masterpiece, then you'll be in for a few raised-eyebrow moments. GRRM is not as bloodthirsty or as lascivious as the creators of the show. Most of the time we are far removed from the flayings, beheadings and sexual antics of the heroes and villains of Westros; only getting to know about it in the form of third person accounts.On the other hand if you thought the show has a complex narrative with way too many characters then the books will leave you overwhelmed. Labeling A Song Of Ice and Fire as an epic is an understatement. It's a sprawling, gargantuan tale about dozens of Houses and their machinations to gain or retain the ultimate prize: The Iron Throne. And in his effort to make sure the reader understands the complex and intricate turning of every single wheel within wheels, GRRM leads us into a labyrinth inside which time seems to stop. Whole chapters go by without any discernible movement in plot or story and I found myself skipping pages to ' just get a move on'.But once you are immersed in the world that he has created you'll find it extremely hard to come up for air. You'll either love or hate with a passion the characters GRRM has brought to life. And with his now well publicized passion for killing his heroes and heroines you'll always be worried about whose lifeless mutilated body you'll find at the end of each chapter.If you are on a sabbatical or just want to get away from it all for a few months, then this is the book for you.

It is Good and in excellent Quality but Size of each book small then I expected....Rest is All good Do buy if size is no matter for you.....

I bought the leather cloth box set, at just 1140. It was an awesome deal. Leather cloth version is smaller, easy to carry, and quality is very good.

Diese Rezension bezieht sich auf die Box, mit den in "Leder" eingebundenen Büchern.Eines vorweg, bevor man sich entscheidet diese Box zu kaufen, sollte man sich im Klaren sein, dass die Bücher ein eher ungewöhnliches Format haben. Das Format ist vergleichbar mit einem Gesangbuch. Auch die Seiten sind eher auf der dünnen Seite, aber etwas anderes bei dem Preis zu erwarten ist einfach nur realitätsfremd.Ich war mir, dank anderen Rezensionen, darüber im Klaren.Mir persönlich gefällt die Box sehr gut.postiv:- das "Leder" (es wird sich um irgendein Kunstleder handeln) fühlt sich schön griffig an und ist nicht zu starr- das kleine Format der Bücher liegt gut in den Händen und macht das Lesen, der doch sehr umfangreichen Bücher, angenehm- durch die dünnen Seiten wird das Gewicht der Bücher stark reduziertnegativ:- das Negative der dünnen Seiten ist, dass die Schrift auf der anderen Seite leicht durchschimmert. Mir persönlich macht das aber nicht wirklich etwas aus( - manche Leser werden sich eventuell. auch daran stören, dass der Zeilenabstand eher gering und auch die Schriftgröße eher auf der kleinen Seite ist. Ich persönlich finde das nicht schlimm und mag ein solches Format sogar eher, weil es mich mehr in der Seite fesselt.)-> siehe das Bild im AnhangInhaltlich:Mit dem Erfolg der TV-Serie "Game of Thrones", haben auch die Bücher erneut an Popularität gewonnen und das mit Recht! Diese Reihe ist fesselnde, erwachsene Fantasy. Keine Elfen, Orks und Magier an jeder Ecke und doch ist die Story genau an den richtigen Stellen gespickt mit Fantasy-Elementen. O box é magnífico, de qualidade absurda, das capas revestidas em couro ao próprio conteúdo literário, claro. Não veio com nenhum defeito de impressão ou alinhamento. Vale cada centavo! Os livros são incríveis! Apesar da fonte de texto ser pequena, se comparada à ed. Brasileira, não me incomodou na leitura. As páginas são macias (ótimo papel!) e ao final de cada livro há um apêndice muito interessante sobre a casas e personagens da estória. Destaque para o agradecimento feito pelo autor, no livro 5, aos fãs, incluindo os do Brasil. Realmente digno de parabéns!

A Song of Ice and Fire is very long so it often does feel slow and you can easily forget who's who or exactly what's happened. But in that, it reflects real life. The characterisation is very life-like: these women, men, children and even creatures feel real, with flaws and virtues alike.There is thus much and more to learn from this saga which one could apply to one's own life: the treachery and deception of people, mingled with courage, stubbornness, honour, greed, lust, vengeance, humanity and much more besides.It's also clear that Martin has done much historical research: details such as curved towers having the advantage of weapons being more likely to glance off then are proof of this.The screen adaptation does closely follow the books but become increasingly divergent towards the end and, by the end of Series 6, is ahead of the books. For many people just watching Game of Thrones will be enough but, especially as the two sets of storylines diverge, I think there is still simply a lot of extra fun to be had from reading the books as well.So quite simply enjoy yourself a little bit at a time over a long time reading this very long story and, if you're like me, when you're done, you'll consider it a little achievement ticked off in your life!

Dopo aver visto tutte e 8 le serie del telefilm, ho scelto di leggere i libri, un po' per non lasciare andare i personaggi e le storie e un po' per avere un'impressione più diretta di quello che intendeva l'autore.Al momento sono arrivata al secondo libro e il racconto è molto coinvolgente.In breve: da leggere!
