Paired this with a 30ft long Biothane longline for use training a young Belgian Malinois. She incredibly powerful already, so I wanted a wide collar with a handle to help control her when needed. I looked at a bunch of similar collars, but settled on this one for one glaring reason. The handle is next to the D-ring, so when walking your dog on leash, the handle is at the back of the neck for quick and easy access. Others have the D-ring located opposite or at least further away from the handle. That means you'll have to reach around towards the front of the dogs neck (likely from behind) in order to grab the control handle.This collar is very sturdy, and as a daytime/work/play collar should last for several years at least. Strong hook and loop closure in addition to a reliable metal buckle. The wide width spreads the pressure on the neck from pulling across a broader surface area, so safer for the dog.

Incredible quality and durability but.... we have 2 Lab puppies and when they play the remove each others collars as sport and run with the collar. Otherwise 5 stars.

Durable collar ! My dog doesn't wear a collar when he's home - only when we leave the house. It hasn't torn or worn out. The collar feels thick and the clip feels durable as well.

I bought this collar 5 years ago for my dog and I was about to buy a replacement, but when I took it off and looked at it, really the only thing is a few loose strings and the "in training" patch that came with it is really weathered. Other than that it still has plenty of life in it, even the elastic around the buckle is still there intact. This thing looks like it has another 5 years to go before I actually need to replace it

It was a good collar while it lasted, the black clip part that clips in broke so now it’s useless, would be better to get a metal one not cheap plastic.

I purchased this Excellent Elite Spanker Tactical Dog Collar, size L, color RGN on January 6, 2018 for my male Belgian Malinois. He was about 65 lbs when I purchased this and now is 75 lbs and still wearing it.I like the idea of the quick release buckle and control handle. It’s easier to reach my dog’s neck height than a vest handle.It’s worked great for keeping him close to me when walking past people in tight spaces. I keep the leash short with one hand and have him heel so I can grip the collar handle with the other hand.This collar alone would not work for my dog as his neck is larger than his head and this slips right on or off with ease. We use a prong collar on top of this tactical collar and hook the leash to the two rings of the prong collar and the D-ring of this tactical collar. This collar helps keep the prong collar from sliding down to a (wrong) low-on-neck position and the prong collar helps this tactical collar from sliding up and off his head.During the summer of 2018, my dog ran into the lake a lot and I had to wash the collar (in a mesh laundry bag) multiple times a week to get rid of the mildewy stink. Air drying at that time took too long before we needed to put it back on him, so it went into the dryer a lot too. This faded the color. The black paint on the buckle and D-ring also scraped off from leash and tags.After 2018 summer ended, he didn’t get his collar wet often and the collar no longer smells bad.The Velcro along the outside of the collar works great for patches. I really like this feature. Our dog doesn’t do well with strangers approaching us so we like to have a warning visible to others.I’ve posted a review for the Albcorp Reflective Patches with Hook Backing - “Do Not Pet” that I purchased in both Medium and Large sizes. The medium fits on this collar as stated in that review. I’ve also recently purchased EmbTao No Touch No Talk No Eye Contact embroidered badge and placed it next to the other patch on this collar.Overall, I’m still happy with this purchase and still using it. It looks good on my dog and serves several practical purposes. 5 stars.Photos explanation:I've attached a photo of a PS4 green camo controller for color reference.
