Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play, Thomas at The Sodor Lumber Mill

I am only giving it 4 stars becouse I personally fir not get to play with it. On line I was able to buy 2 trains for less then the whole price of the most expensive one at the toy store. All came well wrapped . They had such great reviews from parents on line and the kids next door who told me not to get anything with battery's for a 3+year old they all love Thomas and passed down these toys when they grew out of them..so on everyones recommendation I got 2 this and the Penguin set with shipping it was cheaper than the toy store for just the Penguin set..it hopefully has a good home with some child we picked of the Salvation Army's giving tree..for a little child who wished for a train.

I had no idea what to expect with this as we only recently discovered the Take-N-Play Thomas stuff - but we have a trip coming up soon to see the grandparents & I was looking for something we could easily take with us (either in the suitcase or on the plane if possible). This is exactly what we wanted - and it will easily fit into our carry on stuff - meaning if needed he can play with it during the layover.Since I had no idea what I was getting I also got another track set from Toys-R-Us - the "Misty Island" set (sold by amazon as well:  Thomas the Train: Take-n-Play Rescue from Misty Island ). This one - the Sodor Lumber Mill - arrived first - and it's *so* compact that I was pretty shocked when the Misty Island set arrived today - it's huge in comparison!! Certainly not something you could reasonably take on a trip involving air travel (I'm sure you could - but you would need a bigger suitcase!). We're going to keep both since my son will still love playing with the misty island one in the house - but this one is exactly what you need if you're looking for a small compact item to travel with.I love that it's all one piece (except the tunnel bit - that comes off so it will hold the track inside & it has the handle on top) - but my son loves that he can just pick the whole thing up & move it somewhere else. With his wooden tracks he has a hard time since he hasn't quite mastered putting them altogether & he get s frustrated with them (he's almost 2.5yo). With this he'll just pick it all up & move into another room to play with it - and since it's all one piece he can also play on unlevel surfaces - like the sofa or the bed (it's a bumpy ride for Thomas & friends - but he makes it work).And as if this wasn't good enough already - since the Take-N-Play trains are diecast - this track also works perfectly with his massive collection of hot wheels cars.

This track is easy enough for my 2 y/o to set up by himself, and it's durable. The track pops apart when it's handled roughly, but it definitely won't break. There are other more complicated track sets, but this track really ties into the books/TV show. It's dynamic in that it can be hooked up to other tracks. I am able to connect this track to the small track on the front of the carry case. The excited look on my son's face when he saw the tunnel was priceless.

It was fun for the two days it lasted. The track broke apart very quickly. Also if you pop the tunnel off too many times it won't go back on. It was okay for the price.

So, my daughter loves Thomas, and just loves the trains, so we got her this as a quick Thomas train to hold her over for a bit. And when her relatives got her an additional set, I found out that you could actually hook them up, the track veers off on one side of it so you can hook it up to whatever, as long as it is part of a Thomas set you can hook it up. As far as this one goes, it is pretty good in a bid, because you can pack it up and make it smaller, making it a to go toy, but for at home playing, it is fun for the kids, but it can lose it's fun quickly because it is so small.

But it's the perfect size for the 2 year old and he has to fight the 4 year old off of it. I will definitely be buying the additional sets which interlock to make the whole set up quite an impressive group. Works with the wooden or die cast trains. Folds easily for adults and for the 4 year old. The 2 year old enjoys folding the track but can't attach it to the garage yet.I was able to tuck 2 trains into the carrier with the track for traveling. Not sure if you can do that with all of them.Big success and sturdy.

a few things that prevent me from giving 5 starts:1 - the tunnel can be removed, it is not stuck in place (the more lose parts, the more likely something will get lost)2 - the train track doesn't make any sense (I added more tracks to connect it to other Thomas tracks): once the train 'enters' this oval track, the only way to exit is to back out. Try doing that with a 5-6 trains-long train.

My 2 year old is a big fan of Thomas the Train so this was something I knew I had to get. It was a Christmas gift for him and it was a big hit! I guess I should have read the description more carefully, but for some reason I thought the train was battery operated and would run by itself. My son has to push the train but he doesn't seem to mind at all.

I got this for my 2 year old Grandson's birthday and it was a massive hit. He plays with it everyday. Its a bonus that it all folds up inside itself and is easy to carry about. Totally recommend, great value for money and well made.

A birthday present for my grandson who loves Thomas and Friends. An excellent value item; very well made. The seller was excellent and provided excellent customer service.

This is a nice product. The construction is simple and stands very sturdy so can be used in most surfaces. The train is hardy and well-built and the magnet works both ways (a scientific mystery!)The set fits with other take n play products so is easily expanded.

Smaller than I expected ,but my grandson loves it. Excellent for play on the go.

I Brought this for my Nephew who loves Thomas and is always on the go this product is perfect and he can take this toy with him and have hours of fun. This product got here a day early which is great and was packaged safely and arrived in perfect condition.Thank you so much xx
