It's Edith Head!
The legendary Hollywood Costume Designer so great that she won an Ocsar for the work of Hubert Givenchy on the movie Funny Face starring Audrey Hephburn and a deleciously beautiful wardrobe. (also the beginning of the actress' role as muse and her life long friendship with the designer) Head's contract with the studio stated she was the Head Designer for all costuming for the studio and thus would recieve all awards as well as film credits. She was and still is a boss. Respected for her style and talent in insuring Hollywood's position as trend setting and feared for her ability to make or break a stars career. So her publishings are still important and relavent today. I for wish more so called stylish person's respected the rules of Ms. Head. I would enjoy the red carpet so much more.

An amusing but unnecessary book
I really enjoyed Edith Head's How to Dress for Success, so bought this little volume, but it is very slight - mostly anecdotes - and feels quite rushed.

Stupid and useless
Thought this would be Edith Head's perspective on what works and doesn't work in fashion: what you should do if you are short waisted or tall or want to draw attention to or away from features. Nope. It is literally an A -Z list of what you should wear on certain occasions, like Shopping, with some banal snippets of Head interacting with famous stars. Gaah. For someone with such timeless designs, this is a lazy waste of paper.

Abridged and so somewhat pointless
Abridging the contents of this book makes the information completely outdated. The contents of what was a definitive book of style and grace of a generation is pared down to a collection of one liners. The illustarations are gorgeous, although at times ill fitted.

Everyone is different
This is a short read but a good one. Something good to know.

Three Stars
Not much substance to this book! Certainly not what I expected when I purchased it!
