At first I thought.."Dang it" these things don't work. Then my husband tried one and WOW - the whistle noise is loud and very high pitched. It's important to let you know - YOU MUST BLOW SHORT HARD BREATHS, you can't just causally blow like you would a regular whistle with a ball inside of it. We are in our kayaks or canoes all summer and I have been lax by not buying whistles for each life jacket we have - not anymore. We are prepared. It's a small investment that could save your life. These whistles are small and sturdy. They come with colorful lanyards and are also brightly colored for quick recognition. I bought these for those I care about and even selfishly tucked one in my backpack. With a lot of purse snatching and assaults happening these days, it's always best to be prepared and these little whistles are LOUD! Great for hikers, camping, outdoor events, sports, etc. Best of all, they are easy to carry, compact and dependable. No batteries needed- just put your lips together and blow!

Bought them for our emergency kit and to have one on my key chain. It's very small and light.I tested them all out just to make sure sound came out of them. I just blew on every one of them enough to get a good high sound and all of them worked.I wasn't looking for ones with a lanyard so it was a bonus. The lanyards are not very sturdy but they work. (I would not hang a bunch of keys on them. I would hang the whistle and a key or two only). The price is right for what I got.If I need more I would purchase these again.

I am a retired women that lives in a semi-rural area. Also living in California with earthquakes that can happen at anytime.It was suggested on a "be prepared" site to carry a whistle with you at all times in the event you may be trapped and need to get help. I like the slim whistles that I have on all my car key rings as well on a set I carry on me at all times. They fit nice in my pocket on daily walks. Bottom line a screaming whistle may help me out some day.

I was super excited to get these vibrant whistles. The whistle is made with great quality has some weight to them (love that). The the lanyard material is fine. The noise level is perfect. I loved that I could get many of these for the price of one from Walmart :) yay!

Bright Colorful lanyards with slim aluminum whistle that works really well and are nice and loud. Great buy for the quantity and quality. Worked great as a gift handout for a group of youth at a summer camp. Ring is large enough to add other items like a compass or mini flashlight.

I bought these for stocking stuffers for my granddaughters to use when they go to the park near their home and for when they go camping. They are colorful... Not too loud, but loud enough to use if the girls need them... which I hope they never get in a situation when they need them... but they will have them if it ever happens.

Came in a baggie all wet with some type of chemical.... maybe a cleaner or disinfectant for previously returned items, as mentioned from another person. Returned asap and never took them out of bag to try. Unacceptable and unsanitary, especially with the pandemic and other illnesses going around.
