Fantastic little unit
The media could not be loaded. Bought the 220 stick. Great little machine.Fired it up with some frozen 7018 that was never kept in a heater. Laid a bead down on some rusty scrap metal laying around the yard, and it ran like a top. I really wanted to simulate some real-life conditions, so I didn't grind my base material, and welded right through the rust. I included a picture, and a video, of the very first bead I laid down with it.It is impressively small. Like, smaller than a shoe box. Would be a great unit for a small generator, considering that's it's claim to fame as an inverter welder. Especially if you have something like a trail rig SUV or Jeep, where you have a backseat instead of a truck bed. This thing just screams "field repairs." Or, if you have limited shop space, like a shed.Don't underestimate it because of it's size. The leads it came with are kind of cheap, and I plan on replacing the ground lead. The stinger is meh. But for the price, you can't beat it.Just be mindful that you need a 2-pole 50amp breaker and a circuit ran with at least #6 AWG copper. The plug is a NEMA 6-50.Basically the same as the oven in your kitchen.I plan on chopping the NEMA 6-50 off and replacing it with a twist-lock (after the warranty is up, of course).I'll update again in 6 months to a year, after I burn some more rod.Kicking horse has Ol' Peg from Zip Ties and Bias Plies to thank for my business with them.

Great value.
Best piece of Chinesium (by way of Canuckistan) I've bought in a long while. This little thing is the size of a lunchbox, but it runs nice beads with 3/16 or 1/8 inch rod at 70 amps all the live-long day.Cables are short, but it really doesn't matter 'cuz the thing is so small and light that it's easy to move the unit to the site.Cranked up to eleven (100 amps), the duty cycle is just about long enough to run thru a full electrode..but it's yet to get hot or smell of fried chinesium, and I've been working it hard.Everyone should have one of these little beasts in their arsenal..

Love it!
Use a good 20amp circuit, I ran it on a heavily loaded 15amp circuit (2 bathrooms, half a kitchen and a garage). Yeah, I know... but despite all this I was able to penetrate 1/4” pretty easily. On a 20 amp it’d burn like melted butter and lawd have mercy if you get a designated circuit

309 and 316] The hot start is a nice feature and works well
First impressions, this thing is unbelievably small but it works amazingly well. I have used it on 1/16, 3/32 and 1/8 inch rods in both carbon steel [7018 and 6011] and stainless steel [308, 309 and 316] The hot start is a nice feature and works well, the arc appears to be very stable and puts down an excellent bead of weld metal. It is yet to prove it's self for longevity but assuming it continues to work it appears to be an excellent unit for casual and home work shop use. As others have said the one negative is that the power cord and welding leads are too short at 5 feet long, I guess there has to be some compromises to such a bargain.

It's remarkably small, well made, and packs a punch!
So first off, this thing is small and light. I realize the description and photographs already give you that impression, but once you have it in your hands, you can't help but marvel at it. And despite its small size, it really works exceptionally well. Now, as others have mentioned, this bad boy will pop your 15A circuit breakers with ease. Here is my advice: First, be sure nothing else is using power on that circuit; next, avoid extension cords if possible; if you DO need an extension cord, go with a 12 gauge cable and as SHORT as reasonably practicable. With all that, you still won't be able to push it to the max unless you have a 20A circuit to use it on. The thing is, in Canada, the vast majority of consumer electronics will only draw 12A under normal operation. Not so with this little beast, this thing will take everything you can feed it. The other thing I want to reiterate is that it's remarkably well built. It's not one of those crappy pieces equipment with badly translated instructions. It's a legitimate, high quality piece of kit designed for a bit more than just a hobbiest.HIGHLY recommended.

Top Notch !!!
I tried a couple SMAW's and it is amazingly easy to strike an arc with this beautiful little igtb box also it runs very good beads,Tried it with 1/16 to 1/8, 6011 and 6013 with excellent results. The unit runs completely cool, hardly makes a sound and is able to do quite long shots with the smaller rods.It did trip the 15 amps breaker numerous times when i tried to use it over 80 amps and the rod was getting stuck. The stinger is adequate and have a good grip, hold's steady, is quick and easy to release but it has only one position to hold the rod.The ground clamp on the other hand is more like a battery charger clamp, flimsy and weak had to replace it to get proper continuity but with that done it is giving great performance for what it is.It's a great buy for hobbyist or small jobs anywhere.

Great little welder!
Just wrapped up a 4 hour welding session.I used 3/32 and 1/8 rods. The machine was plugged into a 12 gauge 100 foot extension cord on a 15amp breaker.I tripped the breaker twice, never went over 80amps on the machine. I found that working at 10 seconds max per pass avoids tripping the breaker. On 20amps you can operate the machine at full force with lengthy passes. Keep in mind that I was operating it on a 100 foot 12 gauge extension cord. Pretty impressive and very portable machine.Quality of unit and parts are very satisfactory. Great product for a hands on hobby farmer.

This is incredible
I purchased this for my husband. He has a bigger welder but it was not welding properly. He finally decided to use the kicking horse and was completely amazed. It out did his other welder hands down. He has told many friends about this little welder with a big heart! He has used it so much and has thanked me many times for purchasing it. For any woman out there looking for a gift for your other half, you can't go wrong with this!
