Shockingly Emotional
Nikki Sloane, how did you manage to make me feel any sympathy towards McAllister??? I’m shocked and pleasantly surprised. This was a fantastic conclusion. Can’t wait to read The Redemption!

Good ending
This was a good ending to the series. I do wonder how her parents made it out. Other than that, Marist came out like a boss. She had to play the long game. It was hard to read at times. But IL glad I dived in.

The Best of the Best
Nikki Sloan outdid herself in the Filty American Series. It had everything a reader needs for reading enjoyment. Love, suspense, enjoyment, laughter, secrecy, just everything. It kept me entertained. ABOVE ALL, IT HAD A PLOT. BRAVO MS. SLOAN!

If "don't send a man to do a woman's job" were a book, THIS IS IT.
RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐STEAM: 🔥🔥🔥🔥If "don't send a man to do a woman's job" were a book, THIS IS IT.The ultimate chess match was never between Macalister and Royce. It was between Macalister and Marist, and the game and the end result were done so well.We pick up from where The Obsession ended: Marist is being rushed to the hospital. The tug-of-war between father and son continues over Marist's care, and ultimately she steps in and takes control. This becomes the overarching theme of the book. This is also the book that made me Team Marist. I have always thought of her as indecisive in Books One and Two, and while she still somewhat struggles with her attraction to Macalister, she knows that she loves Royce and does what she can to help him. After all, she is the best match for the Hale patriarch. She is cunning and willing to do what it takes to win at all costs -- but on her own terms.I still think Royce is not worthy of her, but he does work toward deserving her, which is the best we can ask of him.I am still firmly on Team Macalister, though. The man clearly does not know how to love and I hope he gets that education in The Redemption (Book 4). But man can he seduce like a champ and I also hope he does not lose that touch. The scene with him, Marist, and the mirror is one of the hottest I've read this year.I really enjoyed Royce and Marist's story. The twists and suspense flowed really nicely, and I liked that Marist's character arc is mirrored by her chess skills. Nikki Sloane's use of subtle but intricate details that become critical later on is just **chef's kiss.** She has an amazing ability to create empathy for even some of her darkest characters, and I love that.

Dramatic ending!
This book reminded me of the telenovelas we used to love watching in the Philippines especially the ending. The twist was somewhat predictable but I did not expect that execution. I think it was a fitting ending though because I truly felt Mac’s obsession and character needed a drastic wake-up call. And it makes way for his redemption book. 🤣I had to exercise patience with Marist in this book. I’m like “Girl, just make up your mind!” I feel like I can’t read her at all. 🤣Overall, I liked the story no matter how many parts of it is messed up. 🤣 Read CW if needed.3⭐️4🌶️

Quick(ish) Review
Horrified fascination. That’s all I can think of as I evaluate my feelings about this series. It was immensely readable and I devoured it in three days, so I have to give it props for how addicting it was. Literal crack. The story is heavily influenced by mythology, and I hit some myth fatigue by the time I got to the end. But the main thing I came away with is for a love triangle, Macalister Hale was the most fascinating character and he overshadowed everyone and everything else. He was complicated and disturbing yet compelling, and as a result, I was was just ok with the actual romance. If you enjoy dubious consent with a very messed up soap opera feel, this may work for you. If you’re against love triangles, kink, and some seriously messed up mind games, This is not for you. Myself, I’ve accepted my crown as Queen of Wrong, and I’m ok with that 😂.

What a terrific ending to a great series!I loved the power dynamic that played out between the Hale family and the twists that Nikki kept throwing in. I read this book in one fay because I couldn’t wait to find out how it ended, and boy did it end with a bang!Loved this series and I can’t wait to read the spin off she has from this one.

Royce and Marist are the best

I still love this book and had all the feels when I got to the end.The Deception is the final book of Royce and Marist's story. Book 4 and 5 are about Royce's father and brother. In my opinion, this was a perfect end to their story and a great beginning for Macalister's story. Outside of that, I personally enjoyed Marist's development over the three books. The ending showcased her growth while also incorporating the parts of her that hadn't changed (her love for mythology, green hair, etc). She really found her voice and truly outsmarted someone well regarded by others. I love watching women outsmart men that underestimated them 😌Royce and Marist are hot, hot, hot together. The spice in this book is great and some of the scenes had me feeling things. The dress shirt/tie scene AND Aspen 👀🥵 (If you want even more spice, Nikki's Blindfold Club series has 𝙞𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 spice).I cannot recommend this series enough. It's a great series, and I think Nikki really flexes her storytelling and writing ability even more as the series continues on.

Vaya final
No me lo esperaba, después de tantos eventos los últimos capítulos son geniales, aunque me quedé con duda ¿dónde quedó el joven Hale?

“Checkmate” ...... as Marist would say . 😉
Oh my goodness what a fantastic ending to this trilogy ,although there is another book I believe , which I’ll definitely looking forward to read as I can’t seem to get enough of the dysfunctional twisted Hales 😉😉 ... At the end of book two ,Marists’ life hung in the balance when Alice tried to poison her ,luckily for her Macalister found her and together with Royce got her to the hospital in nick of time . Not wanting to cause a scandal that would tarnish the good name of Hale , the incident was hushed up and the facts changed to make it look like an accident caused by Marists’ bad judgement but it’s obvious Alice hasn’t finished with her just yet 😱😱 . After that incident Alice was banished from the main house and went to live in the converted stable block ,she was to have have no close contact with Marist again and had very little hands on involvement with the wedding plans . Thankfully the wedding goes well ,apart from Macalister giving his first wife’s ring to Marist which unsettled her a bit. Marist quickly recovers her composure and is soon back to her main goal of the day to marry the love of her life and then continue to help him with the plan to dethrone his father as head of the company . Trying to keep Macalister in the dark until Royce is ready to make his move is proving harder than they anticipated as he seems to be always one step ahead of them . One things remains a constant thread through these books Is Macalister’s relentless quest to get Marist into his bed ,even after promising to leave her and Royce alone he continues his unhealthy pursuit even after the wedding ........ As with all the books there is a lot of other dramas that happen in the background which I’m not going to give any spoilers too I’m also not going to give you any end spoilers as well , but it’s safe to say that it's was one hell of a rollercoaster ride of danger & drama 😳😳😱. It’s been a fantastic trilogy which at first I thought I wouldn’t like , with all the depravity ,twists ,secrets and lies your mind tells you you shouldn’t read it but when you start it’s so addictive you can’t stop and you just have to know what happens the end .
