This gauge is great - it’s easy to use, sturdy and it IS accurate. Please ignore all the people who have reviewed this item saying the measurements start in the wrong place, they don’t! The reason the 3 inch mark appears to start around 4 and a bit inches from the heel plate is because you are supposed the read the measurement through the very clear and obvious circular viewfinder... The slider is just over an inch wide, hence the extra distance before the markings start.I’m really not sure why so many people are trying to read their child’s foot measurement by looking under their foot...? As you can see from my photo, my daughter’s foot is 5 inches long. The circle with the big arrow telling me where to read the measurement is resting exactly on 5 inches. The tape measure I placed alongside shows that from the other side of the slider (where her toes touch) up to the heel plate is also 5 inches. Absolutely accurate- great item!

It works and my sons happy to use it, but the measurements don’t tally to uk sizes which initially I thought wouldn’t be a problem as I could look it up, but it’s a real faff and for the sake of spending a couple of £s more, I wish I’d got one with uk sizes. Obviously this does apply of you’re not in the uk!

I know my childrens current shoe size and it's much bigger than the measurements given by this device I will be seeking a refund. I'm using it correctly and reading it through the viewer but one child is coming up a 3 when clarks measured her as a 4 3 months ago. And the 2nd child is coming up a 9 when she's in 11.

These are the best snow shoes I have ever bought really good grip you feel really safe they are fully adjustable so you can fit them Over your shoes or slippers. I personally use them with my sheep skin slippers which keep my feet toasty warm in the snow. The strap is very handy you can use it as a tape measure so I now wear them for DIY projects as well. I also wore them on holiday this year we took the caravan to Camber sands and from the moment I got there I changed out of my old faithful slippers and slipped on the shoes. The only issue I have is they don’t sell them in pairs.

Kind of does the trick. It saves a load of papers and drawing round feet but in all honesty I think the units of measurement are off or strange. I write down what it says then transcribe into something meaningful

This is very accurate when you use the little circular window to get the reading, not the line set up against the toe
