Very good if you don't wear glasses
If you don't wear glasses with your binoculars you can leave these eyeshields in place all the time, in unfolded position. But if you do wear glasses you will need to fold them down or take them off, which is a pain. You simply can't use the eyeshields with glasses unless you fold them down, which defeats the purpose of having them. But if you can use your binoculars without glasses, they work great in shielding your eyes from glare.

Great product, well made, unique, functional.
These eye-shields are for those who know what they're for, how to use them and have enough patience/common sense/dexterity to install them on an eye piece (diopters.) The reason I'm being jocular is because other reviewers would have you believe these eye-shields are worthless/useless and impossible to put on. If you can put a rubber band around a stack of letters, you can spend a few minutes to learn how to put these on properly. It took me all of five minutes and about three tries to figure it out, and now I can remove them and put them back on in a minute. If your eye piece(s) adjust (which most do), either adjust them all the way in or out, for me and most users it's out, gently align the shields, and without tearing the diopters off, set the rubber half with the shielding part outbound at least halfway on and then gently stretch the other half over. It will take a couple of times trying but it's not impossible. I tried viewing with shields on for about ten minutes and experienced no adverse affect or discomfort. When you're reading a review and get the strange feeling the person doesn't know what they're talking about or they're frustrated/mad, be cautious and take heed. Usually they can not get themselves untangled or out from under a comforter, sheet or bedspread. I purchased a twin pack on January 27, 2014 for $14.99 plus $7.49 shipping and handling for a total of $22.48. Well worth every penny.

A little bit stiff, but still usable and a great deal!
These are really great, and block out the light from around your eyes, making viewing clearer. However, they are just a bit stiff, but not so much that they are too uncomfortable or not usable. I use my binoculars for sky watching at night, and because of their weight due to high strength, to be able to rest them against my face while looking skyward for a long stretch is really helpful. These eye shields let me do that, but I notice their stiffness more than if I was using them for field use (hunting or bird watching, etc.) For the price, though, and getting 2 pair is a pretty good deal.

These eye shields are a necessity, a must have !
These are fantastic, they fit perfectly to the binoculars and solve the problem of excessive peripheral light when one is looking through the eyepiece. Everyone who has binoculars should get these things, they are a must have for sure.

Very nice and easy to use
They fit straight away over my existing eyecups on both my astronomy binoviewers and my binoculars. I had no problems fitting them without even looking at the instructions. They are perfect for shielding my field of view from side light infiltration and make observing much more enjoyable. I thought they were different sizes when I ordered them but they are all the same size which seems to work fine for me. They even came in a nice metal box with formed flocking which I totally did not expect at this low price. I am very happy with these.

I use these for birding with Alpen Shasta Ridge 10x42 ...
I use these for birding with Alpen Shasta Ridge 10x42 binoculars. Excluding extraneous light is important to me. For full effect, eyeglass-wearers must remove their specs. These shields are very effective and inexpensive. I didn't appreciate the point of an extra pair of shields until I almost lost one of them.
