Excellent 5.1 System, Top Sound Quality, Aweful Denon Customer Service
I completed a 5.1 surround sound system for my family room with the Denon DHT-S716H soundbar, DSW-1H subwoofer, and 2 Heos 5 speakers for left and right surround. I also purchased the Kanto 32-inch height speaker stand. Total system was $2240 from Amazon. I'm not a techie when it comes to sound systems, but I can discern excellent sound quality and need it to enjoy my music. I would give the Denon/Heos system 5 stars for sound quality, for both Spotify and Netflix and Amazon Prime movies. I debated on getting the Heos 7 at first, until I realized that Denon had already discontinued it. Heos 5s are perfect surround speakers for a medium sized room. Denon brags of excellent product support in their ads and website -- but I beg to disagree. They take forever to respond to emails for technical assistance, if at all. As for installation --- there is very little meaningful documentation (found none online!) on how to setup the components into a 5.1 system. All components (sound bar, subwoofer and surround speakers) are all standalone products, so you need to connect them into an integrated system via home wifi. There is no manual how to integrate them, and a request for help by email to Denon has remained unanswered for weeks now. The iPhone app wireless setup worked easily for the soundbar and subwoofer -- but strangely not for the Heos 5 speakers. For the latter, I had to use a lightning to 3.5 mm cable ($8 in Amazon) to connect. The app is where you integrate all of them into 5.1 --- but that you'll have to discover for yourself as there are no instructions available. I give it 3 stars for installation, intuitive but would have preferred instructions. And -- I have another Denon soundbar in my bedroom adjacent to the family room. I can now play in tandem - this is a much enhanced listening experience!Installation woes aside, I consider this as one of my more expensive purchases that is truly worth it. I listen to a lot of classical and smooth jazz, either at low or high volume -- and I am now truly enjoying a richness and quality that I was not before my Denon system. I simply love my Denon, and highly recommend them. I also highly recommend the Kanto 32-inch (0r 26) speaker stands for the surrounds. They look great together.UPDATE: I experienced problems with Spotify on the soundbar -- the sound would repeat cycle from low volume to high on its own. It worked fine for Netflix and Prime. After much googling, I found a message group that adviced turning off Spotify's Device Lock Screen (in the app settings on your phone), but that did not solve my problem. I was on the phone with Denon support - which in my experience with them is one of the most inept technical crew you will encounter. His advice was simply to reset the whole 5.1 system - which if you read above, is a long process you'll have to figure out yourself. After weeks of frustration, a few days before I planned on resetting the whole thing, the problem resolved itself. Go figure!I will say again - the sound quality of this system is absolutely awesome - but customer service sucks big time. After all that frustration, I would swear it was all worth it because it just sounds awesome.

Denon is not a software company
I have had this system for sometime now, and I really wanted it to be the system I could brag about. This is not it. I bought both the sound bar and the wireless subwoofer. It's failure is not the engineering our it's sound design. It's failure is the HEOS software that is used to control it. Without the software the speakers are just a giant brick. The software lacks an interface worthy of a premium sound system. It is not robust, lacks any real sound level controls, Denon seems to have decided that only they know how a sound system should sound like and have created a software that might as well be a canned one dimensional system. To top it all off more often than not it just randomly stops working, sound levels change and becomes flat. I then have to reset the system which is to say the least a real pain. I'm just glad I decided to wait to buy the additional surround speakers. If you want sound system where they decide all the settings for you and rely on their settings then this is your system.

Does NOT deliver
When I saw this soundbar, I fell in love. It was just what I wanted. This product would enhance the audio of the Sony TV and allow me to stream music from my phone. Additionally, my wife has hearing aids that could connect to the bar directly. There is also a powered bass woofer to generate a greater bass response. Even though I was having difficulty, I bought that as well knowing eventually the programming issues would work out. They did not. The sound bar has nice sound. However the verbal portion of the audio would become muffled. What triggers this event remains a mystery. To reset requires about an hours work. This was a daily event if not more frequent. The most frustrating part of the reset cycle, was a mandatory update of the operating app’s software that required 15 minutes to download and install. Note: there is clear option to select “not now”, but that “button” would not work.TOO Much Frustration even with nice helpful people remotely assisting. The helpful folks upgraded my issue. I was authorized to return it for a new unit but the item was backordered without any idea of how long for the replacement.

Quality is great
Sound is much better used with VIZIO 80" T.V.

Overpriced Junk
Premium price, not quality! Purchased sound bar in February and it worked as advertised although setting options are very limited and sound quality was decent but didn’t blow me away. Decided to add the Denon wireless sub and things went down hill very quickly. First time trying to pair was a nightmare. After multiple resets and attempts it finally paired and I was very pleased with the sound. This was very short lived as the longest it stayed connected to the sound bar was 4 consecutive days. Countless hours on phone with heos support, factory resets, replaced sub woofer, and finally told to get a new router. Needless to say none of this worked! After 6 weeks this expensive pile of plastic is going back. Have to take a hit on the sound bar as it’s past the return window but willing to eat the restocking fee to get this nightmare system out of my house. At this price point there are much better options that actually work. Just FYI, denon customer support was non existent, hours on hold waiting and still never got a person on the phone. Heos was better initially but seems after they could no longer find a solution it was like whenever I called I was mistakenly disconnected numerous times.

Paired with the Subwoofer, the sound INCREDIBLE!!
I really enjoyed this once it was connected. The setup with simple and didn't take that long. By itself, the clarity is really, really good, but pair with the Denon sub-woofer, watching the Avengers, I felt like I was sitting in the movie theater watching it in XD!!!Worth the money.

A satisfied user
My first soundbar - great sound, added the DSW-1H subwoofer for a 3.1 system. Anticipate will expand to a 5.1 system. I do not want as many pieces as a 9.2.4 system. The limiting factor for this Denon Soundbar system is the rudimentary Heos Android App. Would I buy again - yes.
