I stand with all I stated below, as it all flowed as originally written after the first view.I would say now going by the facts Archives in Windsor Castle have been opened for this program they must have been sanctioned by the Queen. In this case, we should consider this program IS a self-promoting DVD for the House of Windsor to continue on with their POWER.POWER is addictive especially when it comes in a very wealthy gilded cage. I would not mind living as they have and continue to do.Now that does mean this is a choreographed program, very much sanctioned.Except to say if what they say of Charles be true he is both a sensitive man and an innovator also made of steel. In his long wait, he learned the art to think. Both of his Parents have underestimated his intelligence and ability to lead. I hope & believe overall he will make a good King as did Edward V11. He is not that different to Diana really. It is a pity they could have made a formidable team.We love and have seen Elizabeth 11 very neutral face for 70 years now. Is that what the future generations want?Elizabeth was a woman from her times, that is all. A continuation of a past era. The time of George V, Queen Mary and then their son, George V1 who did a brilliant job. We can not help but feel for Bertie, George V1. We all know Bertie did not want this poison challis. It shortened his life.The question now is this time is over and another one is here. It is the 21st Century and Monarchy is very much a product of the past. I believe there is a brand of religion called "Catholic" who may also find themselves with a similar fate due to their actions which have been since outed for all to see. The Catholic Church does not do what they preach.Royalty is not like religion but what they do now and in the years to come what will determine their ongoing survival and popularity into the 21 st Century. I feel William will be a modern monarch but that depends on him.Generally, this is what I feel and think after watching this program. Riveting, sleek and entertaining viewing but there is more than what lies below. The reason for the release and timing of this DVD here and now. We will see the changing of the guard sooner than later.We saw a similar situation when Elizabeth was being prepared for her upcoming role.The Royal House of Windsor trying to prepare very cleverly using this modern medium to their advantage and trying to introduce Camilla as the new Royal Consort. They have NOT changed one bit. It is, "'save the Dynasty at whatever cost". They are so cold and ruthless. The House of Windsor and its power comes first and foremost. Firstly, the House of Windsor is not the longest reigning Royal House in England OR the most successful at that. Plantagenet immediately comes to mind. 331 years over 100 yrs of Windsor.Penny Juror again, we hear her, over and over in books and documentaries over the years, put Diana down. I have always seen her as a Charles fan. By episode 5, its interest diminishes greatly by their CHARACTER ASSASSINATION of Diana. They have cast her as the outsider again who came into, schemed to wreck havoc onto an unprepared Charles and Windsor family. She was just 19 when he proposed. Charles proposed to her in haste and out of desperation, we all now know that in the hope she would tow the line and stay in the shadows like their Danish, Queen Alexandria did for Edward V11, Diana gives him an heir and a spare while he continued to bed his mistress Camilla. This is another fact, they, many of Charles ex-girlfriends, many knew of Camilla's relationship to Charles, of her shadow. I am sure many refused the role of Princess of Wales but they still manage to TWIST it to suit themselves yet AGAIN!!!When will they stop? This is rubbish and on the 20th anniversary of Diana's death. Another well-timed attempt to make them appear, so innocent.I give it 5 stars for BOLLYWOOD entertainment value and a WELL condensed history if you are not well versed in the English Monarchy.It was no secret that it was George V he was the one, not the English Govt who betrayed his cousin in Russia and brought about the entire Romanoff families death and demise. There they go, 300 yrs of Romanoffs on the Russian throne, gone so the Windsors sorry Sax Coburg Goth, what not, can stay.No, we are not German. "I am English" Queen Mary repeated to herself over and over as portrayed in "The Lost Prince".This is a portrayal of how far they will go to continue and to pass the baton onto Charles and his ex-mistress Camilla who I can not countenance, whether Diana is living or dead. Poor Charles, poor misunderstood and innocent Charles who had his cake and ate it. Out of the view of the public of course. Of course, a 19-year-old girl purposely went out of her way to do him harm.The whole affair is tragic from all sides. WELL, you should have not moved in such haste and given this young naive girl a good look at Charles before she was trapped in a loveless marriage. They should have also had a better look at the very old "The House of Spencer" who were always historically Whigs. Anti-Royal until this last branch, her father. None were interested in the Royal Family.This documentary very cleverly SHIFTS all the blame onto AGAIN AN UNSTABLE DIANA SPENCER. She is the source of all their problems. Not the root of their true problem being Charles who like his great Uncle David, Charles fell in love with a married woman and the only thing he did not do for Camilla is, as they put it, throw away the CROWN. As his great Uncle David did. Charles is portrayed too as a self-centred man, who was troubled by an uncaring relationship with both his parents. This family is so dysfunctional it is desperately funny. Anything to hang onto that crown.Well soon yes, they will be just the House of Windsor in just little old England with no dominions left. That is for sure not a maybe.In 50 years there will be no commonwealth. AS great Uncle David said, "There is something wrong with putting one above of another human being as Royalty." Especially when you came to it by accident as did this line of royals. Had David married they would just be another obscure cousin of the Royals.Watching this program with the all this rubbish makes me sick. Yes, David was right. The Royals are fortunate they have lasted and when the media gets sick of them and when people stop seeing them as a tourist attraction.Well, then Monarchy will be in the distant past. ARE THEY RELEVANT IN THE 21ST CENTURY.Then, just as you thought it was down pat, you are surprised by the candidacy of the last episode of this 6 part series. The last brutally examines Charles as a future monarch but then turns back around to imply Charles would be the next Monarch which of course is his right to do. He has been in waiting all his life for this role. And wait he has a very long time. Queen Elizabeth will not make any further changes but Charles is already activating a plan to streamline the current Royal family excluding all family members except for his sons and their families. This means Charles brothers, sister and all offspring will be in the future no longer be supported by England. Effectively we will under his reign see fewer Royals on that balcony living off the state. If this is indeed true he then is a radical figure and effectively will bring the Windsors into the 21st Century.Diana was right. Camilla wanted her job and got it. If she becomes Queen Camilla she will go down as the most ambitious mistress ever. She already won by Charles marrying Camilla. Whatever happens, unless Charles life longevity is shorter than his Mother, his maybe, a short reign. Or not. I am sure William will prefer he take the reigns at an older age than now. In the final analysis, Charles has managed to have the women he loves by his side. In this, I suppose he has won BUT I still do feel some sense of sadness for the woman who so young when she married him. She really stood no chance against his devotion to Camilla. I suppose she was a casualty for the cause.Diana would have been far better off not marrying into this family BUT she has left her mark in her two sons, William and Harry and Spencer blood now mix with the Windsor blood.Which way William takes the monarchy after Charles we do not know. What we do understand is the path ahead for this House of Windsor will be like standing on quicksand in the ever fast-changing 21st Century.Having said that, I do believe Charles move to scale down the Royals standing on the balcony maybe their saviour for a few years to come.What will happen to the Royal family of England is exactly what Charles is enacting. Fewer Royals, less cost to the public and in the years to come, they will become the Royal family of England. The Commonwealth may evaporate with time.This makes good sense of Charles decision to scale down the Monarchy for the continuation of the House of Windsor, for now.The tragedy here is Diana and Charles were very much alike. He is as radical as she was. What a power team they could have been.Charles must have spent his life patiently waiting for his time and he is determined to shake up his mothers House of Windsor like never before. We will see a changing of the guard. What will the men in grey suits think of all of this? The establishment that this current Queen obeyed so well. Well. who gives a HOOT. Time for them to go too. I, FOR ONE LIKE MAVERICKS.Diana was a maverick too. It appears so is Charles.
