Good value reel
These reels are good for the money. I bought two for walleye fishing. First, definitely bigger then what I imagined. Second, the star drag is very finicky. It seems like I am always adjusting it. Might be the fact that I am using them to troll with Plano boards. Third, the clicker is very loud so it will definitely alert you when you have a "fish on". Lastly, they are well built and light weight. I don't see there being a problem with these reels lasting a long time. Overall I feel they are a great value for the price. I have caught many walleye already with these reels and have had no problems.

Hard to adjust the drag
For the money the reel is great, my only issue is that in order to get the maximum drag form it you really have to tighten the drag. I will be using this reel mainly for trout and kokonee so I don't think I need a ton of drag for that.

Larger than I thought
I bought this because I needed a line counter for Kokanee fishing. It was recommended to me to get the Okuma low profile line counter but I did not want to spend that kind of money until I figured out that I would fish for kokanee enough to warrant the price. I picked up this reel and realized how big it is! it is a very nice reel but I wish I had just spent the extra money for the low profile Okuma. The size of this makes for a very unbalance setup with a 7'6" kokanee rod. This is no fault of the KastKing Recon at all. I have used it and it works just fine.

Quality Reel
I am very happy with this purchase. KastKing makes some very good products and this one does not disappoint. It feels solid and very well constructed with quality parts. Most of all, it is affordable. Overall, great reel and I can't wait to do more fishing with it!

Will not last...
Have had this reel for a bit and the fist time I took it out the drag was sticky, a little lube and that problem was solved. I have only used this five times and I am beyond the return time. It seems as the drag was just the beginning. since the handle has frozen, the anti reverse is shot. The main spool bearing is shot. I have thrown this reel in the trash. Quality control for this reel must me non existent. Save a little more money and buy a higher quality reel.

High quality bait caster for the price! Smooth gears and casting. Looking forward to taking it out on the lake this weekend!

Inexperienced Fisherman review.
When I got the reel, I was looking at other products that were a little higher in price, seen others doing reviews on those but stumbled upon this one. Once I got the reel, I noticed it was almost sticky, like it wasn't smooth in reeling in line, the counter flips passed "000" most times and the reel feels like its mainly pvc material. Making it prone to breaking on the slightest drop IMO, I dont want to drop to find out. Overall, you get what you pay for. It reels in line, it let's out line, its just not loose enough for trout tolling in any sense of the term. But I'm inexperienced, so I could be wrong.

If the line counter is off, Google how to calibrate it
First one would just randomly act like I opened the bail while reeling in, and quickly let line out. New one seems to be working great. Google how to calibrate the line counter if it's off...it's simple. If it reads more than is out, then addorw line and it'll repeat, if it reads less, then cut line off
