Great toy until it stopped charging
My 8 year old kitty LOVED his Christmas gift until last week when it decided to stopped recharging. It worked great on tiled floor, carpet and area rugs, and ran for a good 20-30 minutes at first. It was great interactive fun for my boy's hunting instinct and we used it every day or two until all of a sudden 3 weeks in it decided not to recharge. I've tried everything to get it working again - using both the charging cord it came with and another mini-USB charging cord... It starts back up, but now won't run for more than 1-2 minutes tops. HUGE disappointment for my cat and WASTE of $ for me.UPDATE: After another week or so the ball stopped taking any charge at all. What a shame - very cute idea, if only it would last. I hope the seller/manufacturer will use the negative feedback to improve the toy's quality & longevity.

Best EVER, my boys are MESMERIZED.
The media could not be loaded. I adopted 2 playful black kitten brothers a few months ago. Now they're probably 6-7ish months old, so still hyperactive zoomy kittens, but big enough cats to cause some distruction when they really go at it, running and jumping and climbing and wrestling.I honestly bought this with low expectations, cat toys are really hit or miss with them and they seem much more interested in hair ties and bottlecaps. They seemed to enjoy the good ol' laser pointer, but I'd heard it can be cruel in some ways, because while they have fun playing for a little while, it can leave them confused and even depressed that they can never really "catch" it. I figured this has the similar red light and the added advantage of being hands-free, so it would be fun for an afternoon at least.I turned it on and put it on the carpet, and my boys are transfixed. Unlike the laser they really don't go crazy trying to catch it, they just sit back and watch, occasionally batting it if it comes close. Adorable.BUT the real unexpected advantage is for when they get the zoomies like I mentioned. They can be barrelling around the house, knocking over anything in their way, driving me nuts! I don't want to punish them for just being rowdy babies and lock them up, but sometimes they're just too wild! This toy has magic powers. I turn it on for them and its just... Calm. Tranquility. Peace. It's like a kitty xanax, just chills them right out. I can leave it running while I do chores and keep them from running underfoot too much, while they stay happy. The dog is less impressed, but she's also much more content to lay on the bed while I do laundry and gives it plenty of space, and seems grateful for a moment of her little brothers not sprinting all over the house.

Finally a toy my cat actually likes
My cat is a jerk. I could have a way healthier retirement account if I didn’t keep trying to make his life happier. I saw this and figured it was worth a shot. He LOVES it. Will literally play with it for an hour when no other toy lasted more than a few seconds and two half hearted swats before he’d stalk away shooting a disapproving look over his shoulder. When it runs out of charge (which takes awhile!) he stares at it on the charger. I did not use the feather or bell because he’s also got a thing for swallowing things he shouldn’t and needing stays in luxury pet hospitals, but it is good with just the ball and so fun to watch!

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS SELLER!
The pictures say enough. This is what I received as a "NEW" item. A used to be cat toy, chewed up by another animal. Notice the exposed motherboard, animal hair, teeth marks and mangled charger port.

Cool toy but dog must be supervised
This really is quite a cool little toy. It's much better suited for a cat rather than our 12 lb dachshund though. I was really hoping that she would just chase this around by herself for an hour every day to keep her occupied. The problem is that this gets cornered fairly easily and she gets it in her mouth. She hits the button that turns it off and then starts chewing. She ruined the first one in about 20 minutes. I bought another one but we have to play together with it and have a lot of fun. It pretty much ends up a soccer game with me taking the ball away from her when she catches it.

My cats love it but it doesn't work well on rugs.
My cats love it but it doesn't work well on rugs. It slips on rugs and has a hard time moving. I am going to put a coating on it that will allow it to grab onto the rug. This is something I would recommend the manufacture do when they are making this item.

Oh, well...
This seemed like a great idea for my six year-old Bichon Frise. She gets bored and lonely when all the other famly members are not at home. But she is emotionally sensitive and easily frightened. So when I tossed the new toy onto the floor, the flashing lights made her turn and run away. After that, every time she saw the ball, she hid in another room. If you have a dog with a fragile nature, I'd suggest leaving the toy on the floor in the place where the pet usually plays and allow them to become familiar on their own terms. I was disappointed because it's really cute and well-made, so I think it would have entertained her when she's bored. If she doesn't warm up to it after a week or so, we'll give the toy to a friend who has a bigger dog. I would recommend the product. It does a good job of changing direction and doesn't get easily trapped against objects.

Still works with wall to wall carpeting
It won't zoom around as energetically as it would on a hard surface, but with wall to wall carpeting it still moves enough to get kitty's attention. You have to manually turn it on and off... So I usually just put it on for him and then turned off when he stops paying attention. I only had it for a couple days but it seems pretty durable.I got this because my cat is a little crazy and is always looking for things to get into. He isn't super interested in this but he still likes to watch it and will occasionally pounce after it. Basically, I'm just happy to have anything that will keep him somewhat engaged.

Great for playful brave cats
The media could not be loaded. My in-laws savannah cat loves this thing - but he is a fearless and playful younger cat - has kept him happy a good half hour at a time and it’s rechargeableWhereas my 15 year old tabby wants nothing to do with itGood value for the price and seems to withstand dropping down my tile stairs as well

Noisy!
After seeing an advert for this type of toy I decided to try it for my indoor cats. I was hoping it would keep them entertained whilst I do my own thing. My cats follow it around the house, just watching it. They don't try to play with it though. It's quite big for a cat and because it's plastic...boy is it noisy! Whenever it hits a wall or piece of furniture it makes a really loud thud. I tried to put some fabric round it but this restricts it movement.Would be better if it was a. Smaller and b. Made of a soft material like silicone.

the only interesting thing about this is the LED light
Interesting toy, but for my cat it just won't do. She's got too much "respect" and does not get any close, or chase. It's simply too big. She likes watching the LED light for a while before she gets bored of it.The attachment is a nice idea but it just doesn't work. On their own, my cat loves playing with them, but on the ball she just won't get anywhere near. When the attachments are on the ball, the ball keeps going in circles as the string keeps twirling and twisting itself so much, it forces the ball in only one direction and therefore makes it go in small circles. The worst is the feather, as it's simply too big and the way the ball rolls, not only makes it twist the string, but the feather activily is blocking the ball to go anywhere far and just twists so much, that the feather often goes under the ball rather than being dragged for chasing.A good idea, but certainly needs a lot of improvement. I.e. making it smaller would help (if that's even possible). Change the "rolling" direction and where the attachment goes so it doesn't interfere with the "rolling" motion.Battery sufficient, otherwise interesting design.

Gone off the boil!
This was the second interactive ball I purchased for my manic kitten/cat. The first one he lost. This replacement started off well and he was mesmerised by it but quite suddenly it stopped its rolling motion and issued a clicking noise which puzzles me. Recharging makes no difference at all and he has now lost all interest. It wass certainly not as interesting on carpet but played well on tiled floors. Disappointing.

Cats love it!
The product was delivered swiftly and well packaged. Clear instructions meant we were able to get it going quickly. It was easy to charge and turn on. The cats were delighted to see it and have since spent many happy hours chasing it around the house. And it has not needed a recharge since our first plug in. Highly recommended!
