Works okay but takes some practice
I like the drone and so does my grandson although it's a bit trickier to use than some make it seem. After putting it together, which is really simple, I decided to test it first after reading some reviews saying they couldn't control it and it flew away on them. The controller is kind of...unusual but that may be because this is our first drone. It has a joystick on the left side of the controller to make it go up and down or side to side, and then there's a joystick on the right that's supposed to "trim" out the movement that KIND OF works (may be user inexperience). Get familiar with the quick land button (as I call it), because sometimes it seems as if this thing has a mind of it's own. If you hold the up/down joystick down, down, down, continuously the drone will eventually land; I've had to do this a few times to keep it from crashing or going too far. I think that "headless mode" is what makes it seem as if the buttons on the joystick isn't controlling the drone; I'm still trying to figure out the best way to control it when I accidentally push this button. If the controller seems unresponsive, recalibrate it by holding down the up/down joystick to the right until it beeps (or the lights flash, I forget) and then to the left; that seems to help it get back on track. Be careful when operating the drone in the wind. Mine went father than I wanted, the controller was no help, and I had to do a "force" landing to keep it from getting lost. One of the biggest challenges IMHO is trying to pair and use the DJ-UFO app to use it with your smartphone. If I'm not mistaken, neither pictures nor videos can be taken without pairing it to this app; if there is a way, I haven't figured it out yet. Also, apparently, the controller has to be on as well when using the app to control the drone. Sorry a lot of this may seem to be basic information to some people, but this is our beginner drone, so it's all new information to us, and the instructions manual, and the instructions inside the app can be a bit confusing. A few other things to keep in mind is there is a slight delay on the video beginning after you press the start/camcorder button (if you're lucky enough to have successfully paired it with the app). Also, I've only been able to make it do a 360 degree flip once, and I'm not sure why it did it. I've tried again with no luck. It does hover well though.

Tons of fun
My husband was a little jealous of my brother’s $800 drone (which he later crashed) but I was wary on spending that kind of money for a ‘toy’. This drone is an awesome, less expensive alternative. It is fairly easy to use and a whole lot of fun. It’s pretty easy to use - was very easy to snap together. The packaging it came in is great - compact and neat. It hasn’t been great weather, but we’re looking forward to more clear skies to play with it lots more.

Any breeze, Do not fly.
For $36.99 and 2 batteries a great bargain. I haven't tried the camera function. After taking apart the controller, finding a piece of flash plastic (leftover material from the mold) keeping the left speed trigger from engaging. Put it all back together what a huge difference. level 1 slow and weak good to learn to fly with no breeze. Level 2 way more responsive and able to hold in 8-12 mph wind. 2 to 3 times quicker than L.1 Level 3 very fast and nimble almost twitchy. Will fly about 18 mph turn on a dime and will get away if not careful. I had to put a piece of masking tape on the nose. 50' away, you can't tell front from rear. paint the nose different color The lights suck for nav settings. I modded the light covers so i could see them, thanks Dremel tool. No regrets with this Purchase .

This thing is Awesome!
This is probably my 4th quad copter. I just keep crashing the darn things... Anyways, the tech in this thing is incredible for the price. The acrobatic flip is sweet, the self take off/land is good, it flys in moderate wind, it even has a camera to pair to your phone. What to expect. The "Video" is just a snapshot every second. don't expect to use it to fly unless you wana loose it. The return home is also not impressive... i'm not sure it works at all. But hey, for $30 bucks i'm pretty happy with this thing. It's very stable. easy to fly around the house and chase the kids. I let them fly it too... sometimes. They haven't crashed it yet. Seriously, i got this for my boy(10) and he has done a great job learning to fly it.

Disappointment
I got this as a Christmas present for my brother. I read the reviews and it seemed like a good product for the price and would be easy to use for beginners. Well, the first time he used it would be his last. He sent it up and the next thing he knew, he was chasing it down the street as the controllers were not working and it was just doing it’s own thing. He hit the button to stop the drone immediately with no avail. In the end, he ended up losing track of it and it is gone forever. Though I got a good laugh out of picturing my brother running down the street chasing a drone, I am extremely disappointed with this product. This was clearly a complete waste of money as he did not even get one use out of it. My niece who was watching along with him was extremely upset that it did not work and very sad that they could not find it.

Ok drone but don't expect to much
Control pad is fairly simply and easy to use. Have not figured out how to use the camera yet and I noticed that that nobody has posted pictures that this thing takes. I wonder why? This is my second one, first one got away from me and wouldn't respond but now I have 3 batteries and 2 charges. First one was $38.00 and second on was $51.00. I wanted something simple to fly to keep close, and practice basic commands with a camera. Not sure about the camera yet.The direction are OK at less they are big enough print to read. The camera is my next challenge.

Takes time to learn the controls
This product is great, as well as, the company. We purchased this for my son's 1st drone and had problems with the first one we received. The company quickly responded and sent a new one immediately. Took sometime to learn the controls but he loves it. It connect to he phone (which was great, because during his learning stage it got away from him and we found it in the neighbors yard; only because we could still see where it was by the image on his phone.)
