Effective and Festive!
These work extremely well as a bird perching deterrent -- if you live where it's sunny and there's a steady breeze. I have a bird feeding station close to my veggie garden, and these pretty pinwheels have kept perching on my cucumber trellises at a minimum. The only recommendation for improvement is regarding the pointed tips at the bottom. They keep popping off; so I recommend super-gluing them if you don't want to keep re-attaching them.Other than that, I'm really impressed with these pinwheels. They're well-made, super shiny, and keep the birds off my veggies. Hopefully the seller will be able to get more in stock, as I've had inquiries as to where I got them.

Flashy and Sturdy
The media could not be loaded. We bought some of these to help scare away birds from our fruit trees. In the past we've tried flashy ribbons and even old DVDs and CDs hanging in our fruit trees, but the ribbons tend to get tangled up in the branches when the wind changes directions and the CDs are not all that common anymore since we've all moved on to USB sticks. Anyway, these pinwheels seem to be fairly sturdy. The sticks are very stiff and rigid, with a solid and tight connection to the connector on the pinwheels themselves. They spin fairly quietly and are very flashy, so hopefully the birds will not appreciate them and will look for a less irritating food source than our apricots and nectarines.

Does the job
We attach these to the garden fencing and they keep the birds away.

Well, they're pinwheels
They are working pinwheels. They don't move very easily with light wind and the grommets anchoring the blades to the axle rust pretty quickly if left out doors. The biggest disappointment is that pigeons don't care at all about these. It does nothing to discourage birds except that they can't land on them so it does prevent pigeons from perching in the exactly location of the pinwheel. They're pretty and sparkly, but serve no purpose.

Satisfied
I have resident geese in the area. This past year they took to using my yard as a toilet to the extent that I felt that every square foot was covered in droppings. I don't mind geese at all but the yard had become unusable so I invested in a pack of these pinwheels and an amber light that flashes from dusk til dawn. Within a week after installation the goose visits were down dramatically and have continued so for the past 3 months. I wondered if perhaps the geese had moved on. However, I was able to catch a pic of the flock as it returned. They are sitting on adjacent property. Hopefully, you can enlarge the pic, see the pinwheels, the geese and the small fence (I can assure you the fence is NOT a barrier to the geese). The geese appear to avoid the area with pinwheels about 90% of the time. The pinwheels have held up so far for 3 months in mainly direct sunlight. One word of caution: I would tighten the small cap that holds the pinwheel in place on the rod mounting. A firm twisting motion as you press the cap down on the mount worked well. Before doing that little maintenance activity I had a couple of the caps fall off and the pinwheels blew off. Since tightening as described there has been no further problem. My experience so far has been quite satisfactory with this product. I plan to replace them as weather takes its toll or I have reason to believe they no longer function in their purpose.

These made me smile
Received these today to place in my garden. I have a mockingbird family that's been living in a shrub for several years now. Unfortunately they've begun biting chunks out of my tomatoes. I read that nets can cause a lot of problems, possibly killing and maiming birds if the get caught in them, and other animals may get caught also. It's a rather small garden space, so I've been searching for something economical, safe, and attractive. I ordered these pinwheels and also holograph tape to weave through the trellis' & tie on the top of tomato plant stakes.I must say they really made my day, and I am smiling ear to ear. I think they will work (fingers crossed). Most of all they are so darn pretty the way they sparkle in the sun. I am really happy with my purchase.

Poor quality, arrive crooked, and rust after one rain.
Unfortunately, after one week of use, the metal grommets completely rusted and the fans do not spin anymore, even in hard wind. They just get caught on the rusty parts rubbing against the plastic center stem. Also, about half of the pinwheels arrived crooked. It was so much off-center that, when assembled, some of the “arms” hit the pole that they are mounted on, which blocked them from spinning. Very bad quality overall.
