Good toy for motor skills
A sturdy and colorful wood toy to help develop motor skills, learn colors and talk about bees and honeycombs. Adult help would be needed. The sweet spot would be for a dexterous toddler between 2 and 3.

Great for fine motor skills
This has been a great toy for my two year old daughter, her fine motor skills have really improved by using this. She was learning colors when I got this for her, and the combination of picking up the bee with the tweezers and locating the right color cup to put it in without loosing grip on the bee was an excellent exercise for her. Her ability to hold on to a crayon and do some of the prewriting exercises I’m doing with has improved since using this toy to strengthen the muscles in her hand and fingers. The overall quality of this toy is great and the bees are really cute. I was worried that the tweezers would break easily, but they are well constructed and have even survived being stepped on.

Excellent Quality Wooden Toy & Excellent Value
Wow! Highly, highly impressed with this product. So glad I paid just a few extra dollars more for something that turned out to be excellent quality and a large size. I ordered multiple wooden toys in this order and the difference between high quality wooden toys and cheap, flimsy ones made in China is astounding. It’s a perfect addition to our Grimms rainbow & peg people set. It can even be used for play with our peg people! Highly highly recommend. And the pincher tool is wooden, not plastic as well. Non-toxic water based paints, all the good stuff!

Best toy for 2 and 4 year old!
I love this toy! My 2 and 4.5 year old use it all the time and in many different ways.We originally received the Coogam set as a gift and I returned it and purchase the Plan Toys set.Someone asked how the two companies compare and this was my reply:Coogam is a knockoff. I try to support the original company has put in so much effort to create a good product and an original idea. Also plan toys practices sustainable manufacturing and resourcing. They also meet all safety guidelines for US and Europe, as well as using sustainable and healthy paint and glue. Also, there was zero plastic in the packaging. All ethics aside, I genuinely like the plan toys set because you can arrange the hexagons in different shapes and orders. You can stack them and my kids have come up with so many ways to use them that I never would have thought of had they been fixed on a single block. 😀

Favorite of my daughter!a Christmas gifts
I love this toy and my 2 year old daughter does as well! It is made of durable wood painted vibrant colors. While the bees are tiny, they are adorable. I would not give this to a child who still puts things in their mouth occasionally, as they could definitely pose a choking hazard. My daughter enjoys matching the bees to their colored hives. Comes with instructions with various activity ideas & arrangements for hives. I read poor reviews about the tweezers, I see no problems whatsoever and actually find them rather easy for my daughter to manipulate. I love toys that teach & increase fine motor development and this fits the bill! I only wish it came with some sort of storage so the pieces do not become lost, for now we will store it in the box.

Cute toy for improving fine motor skills
This is a very cute toy for improving fine motor skills for preschoolers. However, the pictures on the box that show the blocks stacked are misleading. The blocks can be stacked but the bees cannot be placed into or removed from the blocks without the blocks falling over. There are a variety of other configurations that can be created as long as the blocks are on a solid surface and not stacked.

If I was only going to pick one toddler toy this would be it.
We love this toy so much!!!!!My son is 2.5 and very busy and active. I wanted something that would hold his attention for a while and work those fine motor skills. This toy is wonderful for sorting and learning colors, counting and fine motor skills. He also loves to sing the baby bumblebee song. It’s one of the only things he will sit still and play with. For an HOUR!This will be perfect when the new baby arrives as I can sit on the couch with baby and still play with my toddler. The only con is all the little pieces are easy to lose. We keep them in the little bag and box they came in and I get them out once a day for play.

Fun & Quality Wood Toy
My fifteen month old niece loves these. She's too young just yet to learn colors, but she enjoys putting the bees in and out of their houses. She's fascinated by the tongs and regularly trots to use them, but she's petite and they are still a little big for her hand. In the set I received the wooden pieces were all smooth with no chance of a splinter. The elastic that holds the tongs together is soft--allowing for a small child to use them without difficulty--but that makes them the most likely thing to break. However, even if the tongs went the way of the garbage can the rest of the toy has a lot of play left it in. I could see it being enjoyable with other wooden blocks as well as the bees becoming particular pocket-sized friends as my niece grows older. Overall an excellent toy with many play styles and opportunities.
