Compact and packs a punch
I have been needing a new auto-punch since my 4 year old was "helping" me a few months back and took my old one apart an lost critical internal parts. He loves to help me build and stuff, so how can I be mad?I searched my local hardware stores and if they had heard of such a tool, none of them carried one. I then came here and saw a few. One almost like the ones I had from before, but I really like the looks of this one, that it was made in the USA and has adjustable tension unlike my old one and some of the new ones. Well, it works great so far and just like I had hoped. I also like that this one is think and has a clip to clip onto my shirt pocket with my marking pencil.So if you need one of these, look no further

Perfect punch have used it on wood and different metals, feels good in my hand and does it’s job, especially for the price.

Not enough punching power
This will be OK in softer materials, and is Convenient to have on hand.To get a quality dimple though it does not have enough of an impact to make a great one.It's good, not great/

Temperamental, Frustrating and Poorly Engineered
I purchased this center punch to use on the aluminum and steel I would be drilling holes into in precise locations.The internal spring “catches” ONLY when you loosen the lower threaded parts of the body and retighten them.This is beyond frustrating and a HORRIBLE WASTE OF TIME!I bought this in July, but just recently had the chance to use it. Poorly Engineered internally, although the actual center punch tip was high quality and did not move.I would return it if I could. I DO NOT recommend you buy this

Does what it's designed to.
I have read some of the other reviews, some people have trouble with this item, not me it worked perfect Everytime, I got this to replace a lost punch I had for years, Lysle tools are Top shelve.🔧

Works well! Put the point where you want and push. That’s it.
Good price. Works well. No reset needed most of the time, it sticks every now and then. Pleased with this purchase.

Works as required
Very light and comfortable to hold. Variable adjustment works well in steel, plastic and wood leaving the desired dimlpe.I used steel auto punches during my working career in aviation and this works every bit as well.All I can do no is use it and see if it stands the test of time.
