AUTO METER 2614 Z-Series Mechanical Boost/Vacuum Gauge 2.3125 in.

The 2614Z gauge you probably will receive will have all white number as evidenced by others that have bought this gauge in the past. I have to say probably because mine also arrived, 11-06-20 with all white numbers. This isn't a big deal and not a deal breaker but the product is misrepresented. Going to the AutoMeter web sight confirms this--the current 2614Z gauge numbers are all white.If you want a vac/boost gauge with amber numbers check out SportComp series model 3303 with SILVER housing. The housing is plastic so painting a Sport Comp-silver 3303 gauge housing black is not a big project.Now to the gauge--it has a plastic housing, not steel. It has an incandescent bulb with wire side contacts. The bulb socket contacts do not grip the bulb well, the bulb fell into the gauge while I was working on the final install. A stiff suspension car, the type that would have a turbo, driving over a bumpy road could eventually dislodge the bulb from it's socket. So I pried the contacts out a bit for a better grab on the bulb.I had LED bulbs I didn't install for my cars license plate so I used one of them for this gauge. I used the red lens cover to match the back-lit instrument gauges in my car. If subbing a LED for this gauge, power it up before final install to make sure the LED works, they are polarity sensitive, if inop, reverse the bulb install.I just finished replacing a 40 year old VOD vac/boost gauge set up I had installed on a turbo car I built in the early 1980's with this Autometer gauge for my Mazda Speed6. I installed a TurbSmart duel BOV a few days ago so the VDO 15 psi gauge had to be replaced.I mounted this gauge to the windshield, close the A pillar and is ideal location unless against the law. The housing for the VDO gauge is from 40 years ago too, it has a swivel mount that I glued to the windshield with clear RTV sealant. With the LED bulb, the gauge lighting seems plenty bright with red lens during daylight so should be good at night as well.

Works good just as described

Ordered this gauge as a replacement for one that was broken. The print on the gauge is solid white, not yellow as shown in the picture. I replaced the stock bulb with a short led and it looks great. NOTE: if you replace the bulb make sure it's not too long when completely seated because it will press against the internal spring mechanism and cause the gauge's calibration to be off.

I ordered a like-new item for half the price of a new gauge. I knew something had to be wrong with it, but I'm resourceful, so I took my chances. The gauge I received was in perfect condition, except that the needle read 3 in/Hg at rest. I knew that would result in inaccurate readings in boost, so I tinkered with it a bit. I pried on the coil just slightly until it read 0 and verified with a hand vacuum pump/gauge. Now it's perfect and has been working very well this past six months or so. As far as the quality of the gauge, I couldn't ask for more. It's very smooth and the needle doesn't catch or bounce anywhere. I would have paid full price and still been completely satisfied.

I think the photo is of the Pro Comp series, this particular unit has the entire gauge face in white. Not a big deal, you should only be reading vacuum at idle or between gears

the gauge did not match the picture , pressure and vacuum were the same colorthe given plastic tubing is weak

Would have given 5 stars, they sent me all white instead of of the two tone color. But it works fine and is an awesome addition on my 2000 Audi!

Really like it! But i was expecting to get exactly the same font colors, found it all white, for its important to me to get the shown colors

The pictures shows the gauge as having yellow vacuum numbers, however the actual gauge is all white.
