Works Perfectly!
I picked up an old Sharp Hi8 camera from the thrift store for about $12! The only problem was, it didn't have a charger! Sure enough I plugged this in and it worked just fine. Please not that the charger does come with an adapted piece so i'm not sure if its entirely original but it does work just as described!

not right charger for sharp 8mm
the charger is a vl-a10 the sharp camcorder needs a vl-a110 charger. the one amazon sent was made in china and is not the charger for this. the plugin to the camcorder does not engage and charge the unit. this was sent back and i hopefully will get the vl-a110 for this recorder

Great value
While transferring video from video eight tape to a computer, the camcorder crashed. I was able to find a video eight camcorder in a local thrift store that was missing a power/charging cord. This product works great with the used camcorder and is the proper specs.
