Astrology for Real Relationships: Understanding You, Me, and How We All Get Along

This book came out at a perfect time for me: my 10-year relationship/3-year marriage ended unexpectedly last October. Astrology for Real Relationships has helped me to identify some of the reasons my ex and I had particular challenges around communication and compatibility, even if we'd also had some very intense and wonderful chemistry and some of the best conversations of my life (so long as they weren't about us or our future together). This is info even the most sophisticated apps won't tell you: for instance, my Mercury in Pisces (11H) and his in Cancer (7H) are considered super compatible by Co-Star etc, but those placements both led to us avoiding certain kinds of conflict and misunderstanding one another in a way that might have been even more damaging to the relationship than our Marses(?) squaring off with one another in fixed signs. By going through our placements in this way, at the end of the relationship, I can actually see how much we have both grown, and why we have outgrown one another.In addition, this is the perfect time to explore my chart in terms of my friendships, as those are the relationships I'm investing the most energy now! I had the most fun afternoon+evening in a long time eating pizza with some of my closest and dearest friends, pouring over all of our planets and house placements with the aid of this book. Each description picks out some of the good and the bad of literally every position, and so it's hilarious for poking a bit of well-deserved stick at each other, while also embracing all the things you love about your people!I'm not ready to get to the casual relationships/dating section yet, as that's something I want to allow some space for before starting that next phase of my relationship life, but it is super encouraging to know that that is there and waiting for me when I'm ready for it.One final note is that as someone with a couple of 12th house placements is that I am super appreciative of the generous readings of that house. So often it is mired in doom and gloom, and with 2 benefics there (and some tricky aspects) I thought I might've been stuck with a pretty dire chart in general. But Jessica's incredible sensitivity towards these placements has helped me to see what a gift they might be.Just, thank you thank you thank you for this book <3 (And for anyone weirdly on the fence about it, buy it, guarantee you won't regret. I own the Kindle and the hardcopy version and while I love having the Kindle for quick reference wherever I am, I would recommend getting the hardcopy – it's so fun to pour through and very aesthetically pleasing!)

This book is stellar. The incredible host Of Ghost Of a Podcast and astrologer Of almost three decades has done it again—but this time in print! Jessicas work takes astrology and makes us understandable and digestible for the commoner. This book breaks down the basics, laying a foundation for understanding for any beginner and then prepare for lift off! Once you’ve got the basics down she takes you on a journey through the planets and houses in a way that you will be able to understand. If you want to deepen your understanding of how you are in relationship—this is THE BOOK. Bonus—when you get sick of exploring your own chart, there’s so many layers of how you can learn about all the people you care about!This book will help you improve your relationships and deepen your understanding of self and the people you love. And Jessica brings her queerness into the mix so beautifully by creating an astrology book that’s about relationships that moves beyond the romance! You will learn about how you are in relationship with your friends, family and framily. I can’t recommend this book enough. All I can do is bow in gratitude for this incredible resource. It is undoubtedly part of the astrological “cannon” of our times.

I have been following Jessica Lanyadoo's work for a few years now and I would be lying if I said I wasn't a huge fan of literally everything she does. She's the most authentic and REAL there is. The gifts she provides to this world are an absolute treasure and if you don't already know who she is, I would kindly urge you to check out her other work. You won't be disappointed! If you're into astrology, or even if you're on the fence - I would also highly encourage you to check this book out. I already read it and cannot stop re-reading it. This book dives into more than our sun signs, (did you know that you're more than just a sun sign?), and truly talks about what we actually care about - understanding you, me and how we all get along. Relationships to ourselves, the people we love most while using a loving language we can all hear, no matter who you are or where you come from. This book breaks everything down down and truly explains so much woo, that it would be a disservice to yourself if you didn't get it.

This book is revolutionary and insightful. Jessica’s scope of knowledge, quick wit, and tender love of people, planets, houses and aspects comes through brilliantly in this book. It’s a ‘how to’ guide for navigating life, relationships, and our connection to ourselves, others, and our source. The way the book is broken down makes learning astrological fundamentals easy.As soon as I got it I went through my birth chart and the charts of those nearest and dearest to me to get the scoop on why we love (or not so much love) the people in our circle and closest to our hearts.I will be gifting this book out to friends for years to come and hope that they find truths and insights within its pages like I have.Thank you Jessica!!!!

Jessica Lanyadoo is a damn treasure and her practical wisdom is unforgettable. This book guides you through the complex parts that make the whole of your birth chart in an clear and concise way. The structure of the book and the language is considerate and realistic to contemporary life and relationships. I can't emphasize how much I love it! It's fun and real and crucial to fostering better relationships. Most of all, I appreciate how Jessica re-directs the attention to the self, she asks us to take a look within and figure out who WE are in order to show up for others. If you're reading this.. buy it, you won't regret it.

Good book for those interested in astrology

Great way to learn about yourself and your relationship to others in different ways or meanings.A book I know I will go back to as reference points & what a super inclusive book.Love it Jessica !

This is a must-have book for anyone interested in astrology & relationships. I love how the authors divided into a few sections depending on the type of relationship (makes so much sense!) and the books is very easy to read or use it as a reference book. I work with astrology however still it was quite informative.This would also make a fun gift for both someone starting to learn astrology or going more in-depth.Design is very pleasant as well!Also recommend Jessica's podcast & instagram

Love this book! Big fan of Jessica Lanyadoo. She writes for an easy read, great banter and good approach. I just wish it had a more deep look at other planets and houses. But that is ok, I wasnt sure what I was getting anyway. A few spelling errors but still my fav astro-gal.

Been waiting months for this book to be released. Jessica is insightful, and her prose is very easy to read without being too remedial. Would recommend any of Jessica's products to anyone! This book is chocked full of useful knowledge!
