Strong and sturdy

I ordered a panel for my patio door. The size was fine. I needed a shorter curtain to match the patio door and I couldnot get a size small enough. I really needed a 45 in. I had to get this 54 inch and thenpay $40 additional amountto have a seamstress hem it up. Should have more sizes available. I had shopping for curtains and bedspreads on line.

I thought this grill was a replacement for our current hinged version (that it would connect to the existing frame hinge slots and latch to stay in place. This grill is installed using screws, which seems terribly inconvenient to change filters. I am returning it for that reason. If you are looking for a replacement grille for an easy to open hinge/latch type grille cover, this isn't it.

None of the hardware stores or home centers had anything bigger than a 20" x 24", so I got this one here on Amazon. I had a different purpose than what it was intended for. The previous owners of my house installed a fiber tile ceiling over the existing drywall and did not provide any accommodation to access the pipes underneath the upstairs shower and sink, which I had to do. It involved removing four of the 12" x 12" tiles, which afterwards, left me wondering what to cover it with seeing as I needed something that could easily be removed instead of tiling back over just in case I had to access it again at some point. So I got one of these air return grills which worked out great. Because the actual dimensions are just slightly over 25", it gave me a good cover border around the edges. Through the fins, I could still somewhat see the underneath of the ceiling and floor joists, so I just put in one of those cheap white furnace filters to give it some camouflage.

As described. Remember that 24x24 is the size of the hole it's made to cover; it's actually about 25-3/4" square. This replaced our original 55-year-old return air grille that had seen better days and wasn't white to begin with. Since the return is located right off the entryway of our house, the old one was quite noticeable, whereas one barely sees the new one. Chalk this up in the "should have done it years ago" category.
