Werner built the Tybee FG IM Hooked Paddle specifically for kayak fishing, but it's also a worthy paddle for cruising to the sand bar for party time. The carbon blend straight shaft is stiff without being heavy, and the midsized, low-angle, fiberglass/nylon blades are versatile enough for a wide range of paddlers. When you lend your buddy your 'yak, he'll be able to get around the lake just fine. The Tybee's Smart View Adjustable ferrule makes for simple, precise, durable connections, so you'll never have to worry about limping to shore with half a paddle in hand.

Great Paddle for the price, and great for those on a budget.
The see through ferrule is great for hitting the exact offset I like to use every time, the first time. The shaft also has a slight oval shape (rather than perfect circle) down by where your hands grip, making it more ergonomic while paddling. I only give it 4 stars out of 5, because there are much lighter paddles with firmer blades out there.Bottom line, this paddle is a strong improvement over the aluminum paddle that probably came free with your kayak. It will get you on the water and moving quickly at quite a reasonable price point

A decent upgrade from the paddle that came with your kayak
Light and seems reasonably durable.I got this to replace my Bending Branches Sunrise paddle after I got a new boat that’s wider than my old one. The 260mm length is great for clearing a wide sit-on-top kayak and getting enough leverage to steer in current.

Great bargain.
I am very happy with this purchase and it was a pleasure to paddle with. It was a tremendous upgrade from my previous "cheap" paddles and would highly recommend it.

Getting lighter, but not light
I normally use a Werner 220 cm Ikelos carbon fiber bent shaft which runs almost 4 times this paddle. But for my guest boats and guests, or a back up paddle this is good. I do like the ferrule and am accustom to pull out, push in, no twisting. The ferrule is very nice and tight, no slop nor any shake or vibration. But, if you want a lighter paddle without getting the more expensive carbon paddles in black, but want to upgrade this, there are some Werner paddles Camano? for just under 3 bills. This will feel a tad heavy to those who use truly light weight paddles. But may feel very light weight to those who use cheap paddles, and thus this may be a nice upgrade.
