Another Coben Home Run!
I won’t bury the lead. This book is great. If you like Coben, you’ll enjoy it. If you like mysteries, you’ll enjoy it if you like good fiction in general, you’ll enjoy it. Good plot, great banter, interesting mystery, likeable and genuine characters. To recap: this is a very entertaining read and you won’t be disappointed if you buy it, which you should do immediately. Feel free to stop reading here unless the 5% of lackluster reviews are making you hesitant. If so, read on.In regarded to the one and two star reviews: ignore them.Granted, this may not be a book you’ll want to read 100 times ( are there people who do that with mysteries? Not shaming, just don’t get it). The good news is; you don’t have to because Coben consistently writes a new book every single year, unlike some of the other greats. Gillian Flynn, I’m looking at you (but in a constructive criticism kind of way). He is like the Cal Ripken of crime fiction ( Dear Mr. Coben, please feel free to use that as your new motto.).And, yeah, I don’t think this is his best ever. It’s still better than 97% of any crime/thriller book published this year. You may not like the politics of some of the characters but they are referenced in only about three sentences in the entirety of the book. And this is FICTION. The really mild comments that some readers objected to are made by a make believe person cuz, again: fiction.MOST IMPRTANTLY: Harlan Coben books are always fun and exciting and money well spent. To put it another way, I read about 450 books a year ( not as weird as it sounds), most of them mysteries. I am a devoted fan of the biggies: Tana French, Nicci French, Michael Robotham, Kate Atkinson, Denise Mina, Jeffery Deaver, Lisa Unger, Laura Lippman and so on. Even so, each of them have written at least one book that left me disapointed. In 20 years of reading Coben’s every word, I have never been anything but delighted. He is the ONLY author I automatically pre-order because he always delivers.

Plain good read
My first Coben book was not what I expected. I expected it to be more hard core, and I was glad when it was just a good read. That's not to say there is no drama, but there is a good, engaging story line.

Where's Coben's Wonderful Humor?
I have read every Harlan Coben book and loved them all. I was hooked with the Myron Bolitar series and read one after the other. When I was done, I felt sad saying goodbye to the great characters. In most of the stand alone novels, there is the similar suspense, interesting character development and plot twists. But as serious and occasionally dark as the plot lines get, Coben always injects humor, usually through fabulous and snappy dialogue. There is always a character who, even in the midst of dark situations, can make funny and wonderfully sarcastic observations. This novel didn't have it; it was one horrible thing after another and while I don't mind 'suspending disbelief' to enjoy a good novel, this one was just a bit too strange for me. I didn't chuckle once - nothing broke up the gravity of the characters' tragedies. I will continue to look forward to Coben's books. I was overjoyed when HOME came out and I got to 'hang out' again with Myron et al. Now THAT'S a cast of characters. So, come on, Mr. Coben......give voice to another great character with a dry sense of humor and enough funny lines to give the reader a happy break from the gravitas of the plot. Still a fan for life!

Run Away
I enjoyed reading this book. I was shocked to learn who the killer was. I have become a fan of Mr. Coben' books. I think I have bought all of his books now. I have pre-ordered his latest book.

Definitely one of my favorite books ever!!
I am always hesitant to write a review for any of Harlan Coben’s books because his books are SO good. What I mean is that I feel like my words will not be able to come close to doing his book(s) justice. Let’s face it, I’m going to try anyway..RUN AWAY is Coben’s newest book and it does NOT disappoint. Simon’s daughter, Paige (we love the book already, right?), lives with her abusive boyfriend, is addicted to drugs, and doesn’t want any help. When Simon spots her playing music in Central Park for money, she notices him and she runs. As a parent, Simon is hellbent on finding her and keeping her safe, no matter what it costs him...and it will cost him.If you know Coben, you know that he does not write a slow-burn. This story hits the floor running within the first few pages. If you want a book that will keep you up all night turning pages, this is it. If you want a book where the characters morph into real people in front of your eyes, this is it. The character development, like always, is top-notch. I felt like I knew Simon and could feel his emotions. There are parts of every character that you can relate to in some way, shape, or form. Coben weaves together multiple storylines into one perfect plot and ending. There is one aspect to this plot that I think most people will find totally relatable. I mean, it’s today’s biggest fad, but with implications. (You’re curious, right?)If you take no other advice from me ever, at least take this: read this book. RUN AWAY is my top read of the year and unless Coben were to somehow publish another book this year, it will stay as my top for 2019.

Intrincados problemas
Harlan Coben nos ha acostumbrado a historias llenas de suspenso con intrincados giros de tuerca. Esta no es la excepción. Te mantiene emocionado de principio a fin y guarda infinidad de sorpresas, algunas terribles para la familia protagonista.
