On the History of Political Philosophy: Great Political Thinkers from Thucydides to Locke 1st Edition

I used this book for an Ethics class I was in, and it was incredibly helpful. It clearly explained all of the concepts of all the classical thinkers such as Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, St. Augustine and Aquaintas, as well as some of the more modern thinkers like Hobbes, Locke, and Grotius. Very informative, and it put hard to understand readings in lay terms. If your taking a philosophy class that focuses on these thinkers, I would strongly suggest this book. You'll never have to use Wikipedia again! This book is too legit to quit, and if you're looking to make an A in your philosophy class, buy this book. Real talk mu'fuggas.

The book provides a good introduction to many different political philosophers throughout the centuries. The introduction point should be emphasized; it does not go in-depth with the views of the philosophers presented. I used this book along with a political philosophy essential texts book for an upper level polisci class
