High frequency tone inaudible for Veteran with multiple acoustic traumas
Over all, this product works quite well. I'm puzzled by many false negatives. Yes, I'm making positive contact with the table of the stone, but perhaps 1 out of 20 will be a false negative. Shutting down the tester, waiting, restarting and retesting will usually help, but I'm troubled by this. My biggest complaint is that the very high frequency tone for a positive test is usually inaudible to me. My wife can hear it in the next room so volume isn't an issue, but for me, a vet with multiple acoustic traumas, it's inaudible. I'm not deaf by any means, but the very high frequency is outside my hearing range and I would assume that to be the case for many other vets or folks with an acoustic trauma history. Thank goodness there are the red lights which also confirm a positive. Overall, it works well, but be aware of the false negatives and do multiple tests before rejecting a stone as a simulant.

A good buy
This product is easy to use when following the included instructions. It can differentiate between fake diamonds, metals, diamonds. With moissanite, I got the same reading as diamond. Thus, I will need a different probe for it. Overall, I like it to use for small diamonds/moissanite.
