Ebike Conversion Kit 36V 500W 26" Geared Waterproof Electric Bike Conversion Kit - Ebike Kit - Rear & Front Wheel Hub Motor Kit

I've owned three electric wheels and this is by far the best. If appearance tells me anything, it appears to be well made, the cable couplings are high quality, everything worked when installed and it's quiet on the road.I have two problems with this wheel and they are both serious. I've given the bike a 5 star rating because I believe ebikeling has taken my concerns seriously and is working to address both.1. The instructions are so confusing as to be more of an irritation than a help. After several times corresponding with ebikeling, I was sent some "better" instructions which someone else has written. I suggested that ebikeling include these instructions with the product AND that they work to create a better set of instructions altogether. I took the time to explain all this because I believe their product is good, better than other low cost wheels, and they could make everyone happy by simply investing a little money in getting good translation of the instructions.2. The tape around the wheel is horrible. Do NOT use it. I had FOUR flat tires in 109 miles, and all of them were on the inside of the tube. That means none of the flats were the result of punctures from the road but a pinched tube inside. I finally took the wheel to a bike shop. They spotted the problem immediately. The thin plastic liner easily moves when the tire is in motion, allowing a tiny part of the tube to slip down into the spoke opening. The tube is then pinched and immediately goes flat.My solution was to install a good quality tape with a sticky back side. Now the tape is permanently stuck to the rim and can't move.So, why did I give this product a 5 star? Because ebikeling always responded to my questions and did what they could to make things right. They even refunded me the cost of the tape and the four tubes I punctured. That's good customer service.

This is my second eBikeling waterproof kit. Simple to install although there needs to be an option for shorter wires. Both kits are generous in the length of wiring but it requires some creativity to hide the excess.The PAS system is the best I've installed. Only downside is the throttle speed is limited to the PAS settings and a PAS 0 for just throttle use is unavailable. Both throttle options are available with other systems of lesser quality.There was an issue that required customer service which was prompt and effective.Overall I highly recommend this kit.

This is the second bike kit I have installed. The first one was brushless and gearless. This geared motor is very powerful and fun. I use it for short bursts or when I am going up a steep incline. I did install new rim tape on the rim, otherwise the installation was very easy. I installed this on my front tire. Now I just need to figure out how to control the lcd and configure it. My bike has steel forks so I didn't really need the torque arms but am very glad that they are included as well as everything else. Nice kit!

Sofar very frustrated. No instructions , parts missing.No response yet from email questions. The Control box intermittent and when it displays, the LCD display shows empty battery while battery indicates full charge.Finally got instructions to SETUP.there would have been NO WAY to do this without. Why didn't they include instructions. Once I set the battery voltage to 36v it worked perfectly.I still have an extra cable with a large copper disk at one end and an orange coded plug which matches a receptical at the control box. Doesn't fit anywhere. I asked what to do - no answer.

This is my first conversion kit so I don't have any experience with other kits to compare it against. I don't have the battery yet so I can't speak to the performance, but from what I can tell this appears to be a very good quality well-made product. Solid workmanship.Previous reviewers have commented that the installation instructions where not very helpful and I would have to agree. Also, if you have experience working on bikes and have good mechanical skills you should be able to do the installation yourself. If not, you will probably find it challenging. Some of the installation requires special tools like for removing the crank, if you want to install the PAS, or the gear hub if you want to change out the original. They are sold separately as a kit from Amazon and don't cost much. Also, I was having a difficult time figuring out a suitable place to mount the controller, but then found that Ebikling sells a very nice controller pouch that worked out great.Amazon doesn't sell Ebikling batteries, at least not that I could find, and I didn’t think to check their website before placing an order for an off-brand battery. Since placing the order, I discovered that the battery connectors will need to be changed when/ if it ever arrives. A minor hassle but hey. Ebikeling does sell their own batteries which I think would have been more suitable. I wish that would have been a selectable option with the kit. I would have paid the extra cost.We live and learn, Happy E-biking!Update: 5/18/20Received my battery this weekend and after muddling through the poorly translated instructions I finally figured out how to program the controller properly. There are certain parameters that must be set correctly for it to work. I've been out several times and am happy to report that everything is working as I had hoped.
