Wanted one for a while but finally purchased because of a clients Microsoft Surface, I just couldn't seem to even get it started using my old methods.Was pretty easy to sort out what did what on the unit, and it made getting the screen off this Surface a breeze. The vacuum function works great for its intended purpose of holding the device in place while you use a wire to separate things.My only gripe would be the wire that came with for separating the screen broke under very little tension very quickly into the job, however I was able to see how nice it would be to have a good one. I will be looking into what's available to replace that, but otherwise this unit is just awesome to have now.

While the controls weren't entirely intuitive after I got it turned on and heating it got hot quickly. I was able to remove the piece of glass in no time. Last time I did this was with a heat gun. That took much longer and resulted in fingers getting rather warm. This was much easier.

I very seldom write reviews, but feel that this product can very easily be a 5 star item.Well build unit and heats very well. Seems like it is intended more for tablets than phones. The single included rubber mat has too many holes and won't hold a phone screen down at all. For the price, they should have included a second mat that has less holes.

It's better to buy a well made.product than to buy a dealer one and then having to deal with other inconveniences

I love the manufacturing. Quality parts. I use this for my screen replacement on my iPhone for my son.

It came fine, works, but the silicone sheet wasn't printed correctly. The holes for the cell phone portion are partially occluded and the holes for the watch are completely missing, which is most of what I need it for. Disappointed.

I used this to replace the screen on a Samsung S5 and it worked great for that purpose. Seems heavy/reasonably well built, especially for the price, although one or two of the screws holding down the vacuum plate were installed at a slight angle and had slightly marred heads (no impact on function and not really noticeable unless you're looking for it). For this price, I'll deal with that sort of minor cosmetic defect.I used a FLIR i5 thermal camera to figure out how close set temp was to actual temp and how consistent this temperature was across the work area and found that set temp was reasonably accurate (within +/- 5 degrees F) and that warmup took about 10 to 15 minutes, with the temperature becoming reasonably even across the work area within about 20 minutes.Regarding the tools that came with it (the wire and holders for screen separation), they are of pretty low quality and I snapped the wire on my first attempt (could have been user error); no spare wire is included. Handles and molybdenum coated wire are plentiful on Amazon though, so I wouldn't let this impact your decision to purchase, but you do probably want to buy a spool of the "molybdenum cutting wire" in case you break the included wire so that you can continue your work without interruption.
