Ideal for keeping sponge cakes flat on top
I bought these particularly for making sponge cakes for Victoria Sponges. They were relatively easy to use, by soaking then first and just fasten around each sandwich cake tin. They kept the cakes flat and even on top, without getting the ‘mountain’ on top. They do become a bit charred looking after a few uses, but still work as they should.

Good but velcro ones would have been better.
These worked very well! Perfect flat cakes for the first time, perfect for slicing into layers. The only thing - they don't stay very tight so when you lift the tins to put in the oven the strips slide off. Bit fiddly getting them back on. Velcro ones are probably better. Otherwise they're great!

they work but
I found they dried my Victoria Sponge out - thus making the cakes rather dense. I shall try using them again and see what happens. Does save a lot of faffing about lining cake tines etc.

Helps the cake to bake evenly
Great for bakers as it allowed me to bake my cake evenly and the top surface of the sponge baked flat therefore i did not have to waste and cut the top bit off.Highly recommend
